Admission to 1st Semester Diploma Courses in Engineering/ Technology, Lateral Admission to 3rd Semester Engineering/ Technology & 1st Semester/ 1st Year Non-Engineering .The Diploma Entrance Test (DET)-2012 for admission to 1st Semester Diploma Courses in Engineering/ Technology, Lateral Admission of the State Candidates to 3rd Semester Diploma courses and 1st semester/ 1st year Non-Engineering Diploma Courses in MOM/HMC&T/ Pharmacy/ GD&FT/ BC will be conducted on 13.05.2012 (Sunday) at selected centers inside & outside the State.

ELIGIBILITY :
A) (i) Admission to 1st Semester of Engineering I Technology :
The candidates appearing or having passed 10th Standard Examination of Board of Secondary Education, Odisha or any examination equivalent thereto with at least 35% of Marks in aggregate having pass in Mathematics & Science are eligible to apply. However, the candidates are required to produce their original pass certificate along with original mark sheet of 10th Standard examination during counseling.

(ii) Admission to 3rd Semester under Lateral Entry Scheme for State candidates only (20% supernumerary seats):
The candidates having passed 10th standard examination with Two year ITI pass certificate are eligible to apply. In regard to CoE trade, the candidates should have passed one year BBBT and six month advance module with completion certificate of specialized module issued by the Principal in order to become eligible. The ITI candidates having passed in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (+2 entry level qualification) are only eligible for Admission to Computer Science & Engineering and IT Branch. The candidates appearing or having passed +2 Science with PCM and +2 Vocational with any Engg. Trade are also eligible to apply. However, the candidates are required to produce their original pass certificate along with original mark sheet of qualifying examination during counseling.

Age : Minimum 14 years for all courses except Mining/Drilling and Minimum 16 years for Mining/Drilling as on 01.07.2012. Upper Age has no bar.
Reservation : Reservation under different categories will be applicable for Odisha State candidates only as per norms specified by Government of Odisha.
Outside State Candidates : Outside State candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria are also eligible to appear the Diploma Entrance Test for admission to 1st Semester of 3 year Diploma Engineering Courses against 15% seats
reserved for them in Private Engineering Schools & Polytechnics only. Outside State Candidates are not eligible for Lateral admission to 3rd Semester.

B) Admission to Non-Engineering Diploma Courses :
(i) Modern Office Management :Pass 10+2 Examination in Science/Arts/ Commerce from the Council of Higher Secondary Education of Odisha or its equivalent examination recognized by CHSE.
(ii) Hotel Management & Catering Technology : Pass +2 Examinations in Science/Arts/ Commerce from the Council of Higher Secondary Education of Odisha or its equivalent Examination, obtaining at least 45% Mark (40% in case of reserved category) at the qualifying examination.
(iii) Pharmacy : Pass in +2 Science Examination from the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics as approved by PCI.
(iv) Garment Design & Fashion Technology and Beauty Culture : Pass in 10th Standard Examination of Board of Secondary Education, Odisha or any examination equivalent thereto with at least 35% of Marks having pass in Mathematics & Science.

In respect of non Engineering Diploma courses, the candidates appearing at the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. However they have to produce the pass certificate of the qualifying examination with minimum percentage of marks as mentioned above during counseling.

Age : minimum 16 years in case of (B) (i), (ii), (iii) & minimum 14 years in case of (B) (iv) as on 01.07.2012 and upper Age has no bar.
Reservation : Reservation under different categories will be applicable as per norms specified by Government of Odisha.

Seats remaining vacant in MOM, HMC&T and GD&FT courses after exhausting the entire merit list of Women Candidates shall be filled up by the Male candidates of general merit list.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM :
A. OFFLINE mode : Application form along with Information Brochure can be obtained on payment of Rs.400/ - (Rupees Four hundred) in cash only at the following Sale cum Receipt Counters throughout Odisha from
dt.15.03.2012 to dt.16.04.2012 (10.00 AM to 5.00PM in all working days).
i. All Govt. and Private Engineering Schools / Polytechnics of the State.
ii. Govt. ITI, at Anandapur, Bhawanipatna, Bolangir, Boudh, Khariar Road, Malkanagiri, Pattamundai (SIPT), Phulbani, Puri and Sonepur.
iii. District Industries Centre (DIC) of Deogarh, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur and Nawarangpur.

B. ONLINE Mode : Candidates can apply online through Internet by logging on to Website: www.detodisha.nic.in on payment of Rs.300/-(Rupees Three hundred) only through NEFT / Demand Draft drawn in favour of DTE&T, Odisha payable at Cuttack. The site has been designed in a user friendly manner to help candidates to apply ONLINE in a step by step mode. Online application portal will be available from dt.15.03.2012 to dt.16.04.2012.
The filled in Application Form for OFFLINE mode/ the print out application form for ONLINE mode along with Demand Draft/ NEFT Acknowledgement slip must be submitted at any Sale cum Receipt Counter in person
on or before 16.4.2012 or to the DET Cell, Bhubananada Odisha School of Engineering (BOSE), Cuttack-753007 by Registered Post/Speed Post/Courier service with acknowledgement receipt so as to reach on or before 19.04.2012 (5.00 PM).

(b) 3rd Semester-(Lateral Entry) 13.05.2012 (2.00 PM to 4.30 PM)

ATTENTION OF OUT SIDE STATE CANDIDATES :
The Diploma Entrance Test for the year 2012 for admission to 1st Semester Diploma Courses in Engineering/Technology will be conducted on 13.05.2012 (Sunday) at selected centers such as KOLKATA (SALT LAKE), PATNA, RAIPUR, JAMSHEDPUR, RANCHI and SRIKAKULAM outside the State (Subject to change).

The outside State candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria are eligible to appear the Diploma Entrance Test for admission to 1st Semester of 3 year Diploma Engineering Courses against 15% seats reserved for them in Private Diploma Institutions only.
