This Laboratory, a premier organization under Ministry of Culture established in 1976 for research, training in conservation of cultural heritage invites applications from in-service personnel and freshers for following courses.

Training Course I :
Name of the training course : Care of Artifacts
Duration : 2-6 July, 2012
Number of seats : 20
Eligibility : Gallery Attendant of Museums/ Galleries with 3 years experience of Government/Non-Government institutions
Course contents : General management, inspection, care, handling, transportation of art objects, visitors’ friendliness, museum security and safety
Training Course Fee : Rs.500/- per participant
Last date of receiving applications : 25th May, 2012

Training Course II :
Name of the training course : Orientation workshop on Care and Maintenance of Museum Objects at NRLC Lucknow and RCL, Mysore
Duration : 23rd July – 3rd August, 2012
Number of seats : 20 for each workshop
Eligibility : Directors, Curators, Keepers, Incharge of collection of Museums, Archives, Libraries, Archaeological departments of Government and Non Government institutions
Course contents : History and technology, types and chemical nature, deterioration studies, documentation and conservation techniques, storage, display and transportation of museum objects
Training Course Fee : Rs.500/- per participant
Last date of receiving applications : 8th June, 2012

Training Course III :
Name of the training course : Conservation of Art Objects
Duration : 3rd September – 2nd March, 2013
Number of seats : 30
Eligibility : Chemists, conservators, restorers, curators working in museums, archives, libraries, art academies etc. and freshers with Master degree in Museology/Conservation/ Fine Art / Science with Chemistry as one of the main subjects in graduation
Course contents : History and technology, chemical nature, physic-chemical studies, deterioration studies including bio-deterioration, documentation, conservation techniques of organic and inorganic art objects made of paper, palm-leaf, stone, metal, leather, parchment, wood, bone, ivory, ceramics, glass, paintings, photographic materials etc. and filed studies
Training Course Fee : Rs. 3000/- per participant from India, Rs. 20000/- per participant from abroad

Training Course IV :
Name of the training course : Conservation of Library Materials
Duration : 20-24 August, 2012
Number of seats : 15
Eligibility : Librarians, archivists, library assistants and information officers working in Government and non-Government libraries and museums on conservation of library and media materials
Course contents : History and technology, types of constituents, deterioration studies, physic-chemical studies, documentation, conservation techniques of library materials and filed studies
Training Course Fee : Rs.500/- per participant
Last date of receiving applications : 30th June, 2012

Training Course V :
Name of the training course : Conservation of Audio-Visual Heritage
Duration : 3-7, December, 2012
Number of seats : 15
Eligibility : Personnel dealing with cinematographic work in Government or non Government audio-visual laboratories and those dealing with conservation of audio-visual materials
Course contents : History and Technology, Chemical nature of audio-visual materials including films and photographs, deterioration studies, documentation, conservation technique of audio-visual materials and field studies
Training Course Fee : Rs.500/- per participant

The above courses are open to Indian nationals and in-service nationals of SAARC and other countries.

In-service applicants should send their application along with attested copies of all the certificates and degrees through proper channel with advance copy.

Hostel facilities will be provided to the participants (lodging charges Rs.500.00 per month for participants of Conservation of Art Object Programme and Rs. 50.00 per day for all other program) The Hostel is located at Sector “G”, Jankipuram, Chhuyapur Chauraha, Lucknow.

The course fee is to be paid after selection at the time of registration for the course through demand draft only in favour of DDO, NRLC, Lucknow payable at Canara Bank Lucknow. Course and lodging charges, once paid will not be refundable.
