Introduction :
Admission to Ph.D. programmes is made on the basis of GATE/NET scores and through sponsorship by the employer.

Foreign nationals residing in India or aborad are admitted only to the post graduate and Ph.D. programmes under (a) self-financing scheme, and (b) cultural exchange fellowship programme. Under the self-financing scheme, some seats are filled by Director admission of eligible qualified foreign nationals, as sponsored candidates from their home countires.

Admissions are openfor Ph.D. Programmes for July Semester 2012 :
Admissions are open for Ph.D. Programmes under Direct Admission Category (CRET-Exempted) in the Institute of Technology for the Semester commencing July 2012. Full details regarding application forms etc. are available on www.bhu.ac.in. Interested candidates may visit the website for necessary action.

PH.D. PROGRAMMES :
2-Year and 3-Year Ph.D. programme is offered by all academic departments and schools of the Institute. All Ph.D. Programmes are with course work of specified credits.

Scholarships/Financial Assistance :
The Institute offers Merit-cum-Means scholarships to 25% undergraduate students. Besides, there are several endowment scholarships offered by the Institute. Some other facilities are also provided to the undergraduate students in the form of Institute free studentship, scholarship, re-imbursement of mess charges and pocket allowances to the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

All the students (non-sponsored) admitted to M.Tech./M.Pharm. programmes are provided financial Assistance equivalent to the Junior Research Fellowships.

The Institute offers a large number of Junior/Senior Research Fellowships to students admitted to Ph.D. programmes. Efforts are being made to offer scholarships to all eligible candidates admitted to Ph.D. Programmes.
