Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology envisions the integration of Space Technology and Space Science educational programmes with basic and applied research for meeting the national R&D requirements of science and technology in general and of the Indian Space Programme in particular. The institute in addition to offering under graduate and post graduate programmes also provides doctoral and postdoctoral programmes.

Invitation for Applications for M.Tech Programme – July 2012 (Regular)

Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates for admission to the M.Tech. Programme scheduled to commence in July 2012, in the areas of
(i) Propulsion
(ii) RF and Microwave Engineering
(iii) Digital Signal Processing and
(iv) Optical Engineering

Minimum Qualifications : BE/B.Tech/MSc or equivalent in the relevant area with first class or equivalent. All candidates must have a valid GATE score in the relevant area.

Age Limit : Applicant should be below 28 years as on 21st May 2012. Age relaxation applicable as per Govt. Rules.

M.Tech Fellowship :
1. The candidates selected for IIST M.Tech. programme will be given a fellowship as per AICTE guidelines.
2. The M.Tech. students will be required to assist the Departments in academic activities as and when required.
3. The M.Tech. students will have to pay tuition / registration fee and fee for the boarding / lodging / medical facilities etc., as per IIST rules.

All selected M.Tech students will be provided accommodation in the institute campus.

SELECTION PROCEDURE :
Applications in the prescribed format will be received until 21st May 2012.
Candidates will be short-listed based on Academic records and other relevant criteria like GATE Score etc.
Selection will be based on a written test / interview in their relevant area.
List of shortlisted candidates for written test / interview will be displayed in IIST website on 28th May 2012.
Written test / Interview will be conducted at IIST, Trivandrum on 18 Jun 2012.
Selected candidates will be intimated within a week of the final interview. Results will also be displayed in this website.
Outstation candidates will not be paid any costs by IIST towards travel / boarding / lodging for attending the test / interview.

Duly filled application form along with attested copies of documents mentioned in the application form should be sent to

Application form should be accompanied by a fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for ST / SC / Women candidates) in the form of Demand Draft dated on or before 17-May-2012 drawn in favour of The Registrar, IIST payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

I am in 8th semester doing my mechanical engineering. I am very much interested in thermal science so i want to do Mtech in propulsion in IIST, so i need the information about intake procedure at IIST i.e. about the entrance exam for the admissions for Mtech 2013
