Objective of the project :
Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) is regarded as an important and sensitive indicator of public health status of a community. Here I studied the 20covariates obtained from NFHS3 from the 28states of India to find the best set of covariates affecting the infant mortality rate.
Statistical methods used :
Poisson Regression
Packages used :

Conclusion :
The IMR relates with a number of covariates e.g. % of women aged 20-24 married at 18 years of age,% of women aged 15-19 who are already mother, % birth assisted by professionals, % of children aged 6-9 months receiving semi solid food, and % of Women who are over weight.
