Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) is a statutory Authority, under the Ministry of Railways, set-up by an Amendment to the Railways Act, 1989, for development of vacant Railway Land for commercial use for the purpose of generating revenue by non-tariff measures. RLDA has since been constituted in terms of Extraordinary Gazette Notification dated 31.10.2006, as amended on 5.1.2007. The Rules for functioning of RLDA have also been notified in the Extraordinary Gazette dated 4.1.2007.

Process Description :
Trading Accounts Reconciliation :
- Researching trades and related cash items, contacting bank, maintaining Nostro Accounts, Preparing Bank RECS, Suspense Reports.
- The process involves Reconciliation of both CASH and Positions (shares). It begins with match process in Recon which matches the Bank activity v/s internal account such as MLPRO Trading accounts, FX accounts, Futures and MLPFS, Future, Pierce accounts which are handled by various ML departments with the involvement of different US banks like Chase, Northern, and Mellon, Citibank etc...
- Analyzing Trade status using various applications like FPS, Frontier Recon, CASC, Bridge, DTCC
- The Reconciliation team is responsible for maintaining trading accounts, suspense accounts, preparing Bank RECS etc everyday so that no account should have any open item and each customer received what they owe to Merrill Lynch and vise-versa.
- Researching for the wire instructions hitting Merrill’s accounts and creating wires transfer for different associated banks also involves researching with the direct bank and check department for the missing, cancelled and delayed wires.
- Balancing short and long positions between customer’s accounts
- Reconciling (Balancing) Ledger accounts of Merrill lynch with different banks for each day’s money flow.
- Balancing BUYS and SELL activates, if difference arises need to adjust to proper account through Journal Entries to the correct internal as well as direct client account.
- Responsible for preparing Daily/weekly Reports, to be sent to various financial departments and reporting LOB’s
