QUALIFICATIONS
DEAN OF HORTICULTURE
Essential
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture/Agriculture
 b. Ph.D. Degree in Horticulture or any related disciplines to Horticulture
 c. Minimum twenty years of experience in teaching/research/extension/administration in
 Horticulture, out of which at least five years should be as Professor/Principal
 Scientist/Associate Director or equivalent rank.
 d. Significant professional achievements in his filed of specialization/activity.
Desirable
a. Knowledge and experience of planning, organizing and administering research
 programmes.
 b. Unblemished record throughout the career in the past.
DIRECTOR OF EXTENSION
Essential
a. Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture/Agriculture
 b. Ph.D. degree in Horticulture/Agriculture
 c. Minimum twenty years of experience in teaching/research/extension in
 Horticulture/Agriculture with 5 years experience in Horticultural crops.
 d. Atleast five years of experience should be as Professor/Principal Scientist/Associate
 Director or equivalent rank.
Desirable
a. Knowledge and experience of planning, organizing and administering various extension
 programmes.
 b. Unblemished record throughout the career in the past.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR AND TECHNICAL OFFICER
i. A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture.
 ii. A Master’s degree in the subject (discipline) concerned with at least 55% marks or
 its equivalent grade.
 iii. Should have passed SSC examination or any other equivalent examination with
 Telugu as one of the subjects or should have studied SSC through the medium of
 Telugu or should have working knowledge of Telugu.
 iv. NET qualification in the concerned discipline is essential.

GENERAL INFORMATION
For posts under S.No.(1) to (4) only
The term of appointment for the post of Dean of Horticulture and Director of Extension
 is 3 years from the date of assumption of charge or till the incumbent attains the age of
 superannuation i.e., 60 years, whichever is earlier.
 Selected candidates shall be governed by A.P.Horticultural University (Conditions of
 Service) Statutes 2007 and they are eligible for new Contributory Pension Scheme of the
 University and such other conditions as may be prescribed by the University from time to time
 (other than those who are under ANGRAU service as on 1.9.2004). All the selected candidates
 are liable to be posted or transferred to any equivalent posts in the State in the same subjects
 (discipline) in Teaching, Research or Extension under the University.
 The University reserves the right not to fill all or any of the vacancies notified.
 Prescribed application forms together with full details of qualifications for the posts can be
 obtained from 17.8.2010 from the University on payment of Rs.250/- (Rs.125/- for SC & ST)
 in person or through a crossed demand draft drawn in favour of COMPTROLLER,
 A.P.HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, VENKATRAMANNAGUDEM payable at
 TADEPALLIGUDEM, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh on any Nationalized Bank.
 NO MONEY ORDER/POSTAL ORDER SHALL BE ENTERTAINED. For obtaining it by
 post a self addressed and stamped envelope of Rs.40/- of the size 35 X 15 cm should be
 enclosed to the requisition letter. The envelope containing the requisition for application form
 shall be superscribed “REQUISITION FOR APPLICATION OF DIRECTOR OF
 EXTENSION/PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/
 TECHNICAL OFFICER POST” (strike off which ever is not applicable) and sent to “THE
 REGISTRAR, A.P.HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, VENKATRAMANNAGUDEM,
 POST BOX NO.7, TADEPALLIGUDEM – 534 101, WEST GODAVARI DISTRICT,
 ANDHRA PRADESH. Such filled in applications should reach the undersigned on or before
15.9.2010 but the applications received after 15.9.2010/4.00 PM cannot be entertained. The
 last date for sale of applications is 6.9.2010. The University is not responsible for late receipt
 of applications due to postal delay.
 1. Separate application should be submitted for each category of post.
 2. The applicant should furnish the Medical Certificate from appropriate authority to
 which category they belongs for Visually Handicapped persons.
 3. The discipline to which the Ph.D. degree belongs to shall be decided based on the
 research work carried out by the candidate for his/her degree.
 4. For reckoning the required experience for the post, the experience in the concerned
 subject or discipline in teaching or extension or research shall only be considered as
 relevant experience.
 5. The applicants should mention service particulars if they were promoted under Career
 Advancement Scheme/Merit Promotion Scheme in Employment Record.
 6. Certified copies of degree or provisional certificates and marks sheet/transcripts should
 be enclosed to the application. The originals shall be brought at the time of interview.

 8. While filling up of the application form part ‘B’.
 i. Under item No.2 (meant for details of qualifications) the period of studies should be
 indicated clearly with date, month and year of joining and leaving studies. If any of
 the applicants did their M.Sc. or Ph.D. by research, it should be clearly indicated.
 ii. Under item No.6 (meant for employment record) the details of service rendered by
 the applicant in different cadres with date, month and year of appointment and scale
 of pay drawn. The period of study during the service should be indicated clearly.
 iii. Service rendered outside APHU if any should be clearly indicated.
 iv. A certificate showing proof of service/experience outside APHU should be
 enclosed.
 v. Enclose 5 sets of Research Publications.
9. Applicants other than those in the service of APHU should sent their applications
 through proper channel so as to reach the University within the prescribed date.
 10. The inservice candidate of APHU may send their applications directly.
 11. The applicants should appear for interview when called at their own cost.
For posts under S.No.(5) to (6) only
1. These appointments are purely temporary and will be terminated at any time without prior
 intimation/Notice.
 2. The eligible candidates may send their Bio-data in the prescribed format down loading from
 the website.
 3. A registration fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC & ST) shall be sent along with the Bio-data
 through a crossed demand draft drawn in favour of COMPTROLLER,
 A.P.HORTICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, VENKATRAMANNAGUDEM payable at
 TADEPALLIGUDEM, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh on any Nationalized Bank.
 NO MONEY ORDER/POSTAL ORDER SHALL BE ENTERTAINED.
