EMPLOYMENT NOTICE FOR RECRUITMENT IN GROUP – C POSTS AGAINST
SPORTS QUOTA 2009-10 CLOSING DATE 12.10.2009

Applications are invited from talented and outstanding sportspersons on the prescribed format, for recruitment on Group-C posts against sports quota, on North Central Railway in the following games:

If you fulfill the criteria given below for the various games, please apply immediately.

2. Minimum Norms for Sports Achievements for Group-C Posts Grade Rs.5200-20200 (PB-1)+ 1900 GP

2.1 The applicant sportsperson should havei)
Represented the country in the international Championship in Olympic Games, World Cup, World
Championships, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games, for Cricket(Men)Test Match or one day match
OR
ii) Represented country in the international Championship in Commonwealth Championships & Asian Championships and obtained at least 3rd position OR
iii) Represented a State or equivalent Unit, In Junior/Senior National Championship and obtained at least 3rd position, OR
iv) Represented a University in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities and obtained at least 3rd position in individual event or 2nd position in team
even, OR
v) Represented a State or equivalent Unit, in Federation Cup Championship (Senior Category) and obtained 1st position.

2.2 Note (For Para 2):
(a) For norms mentioned under Para 2.1 (iii) only Sr. National and Jr. National Championship shall be taken into
consideration. National Games, Rural Meets, Festival Meets and other similar tournaments shall not be considered.
(b) In cricket (Men) at International level in Senior Category, representation of main Indian Team in a Test
Match or in Limited Over One day international Match shall also be considered.
(c) In Badminton, sportsperson with current All India Ranking up to 16 in Seniors and up to 8 in Juniors shall also be eligible. Only the current Annual ranking shall be considered for this purpose.
(d) Represented a State or equivalent Unit, in following Cricket Trophy/Championships and obtained at least:
Semi-finalist in Ranji Elite Group, Semi-finalist in All India Knock – Out stage One day Ranji, Finalist in All India InterZonal Dileep & Prof.D.B.Deodhar, Semi-finalist in Inter State All India Knock – Out stage
Col.C.K.Naydu(U-22) Semi-finalist in One day Inter Zonal Elite Group Coach Behar Elite Group(U-19),
Semi-finalist in One day Inter State All India Knock-Out stage Vinoo Mankad(U-19),Finalist in One day Inter Zonal Vijay Hajare(U-19).

3. Minimum Norms for Educational Qualification & Prescribed fee:

Minimum 10th Pass or equivalent Rs.40/- Nil

4. Age Limit: 18 to 25 years as on 01.01.2010.

5. Other Norms:
5.1 The applicant should be a citizen of India.
5.2 The applicant should be an active sportsperson and the Sports achievement mentioned in para 2 above against
which he claims his/her candidature should pertain to a period from 1st April 2007 onward.

6. Selection procedure:
6.1 The selection will be based on the Sports Achievements, Educational Qualification, performance during trial and General
intelligence. For trial the eligible candidates shall be given call letter based on the eligibility criteria mentioned in para 2 to 5.

6.2 Mere calling a sportsperson for trial and/or interview will not guarantee his/her selection. An application/candidate
may be rejected at any stage after found false and railways take no responsibility to communicate the reasons
whatsoever.

7. How to Apply:
7.1 The candidates fulfilling all the norms should apply in the application format given herein below on A-4 size plain
paper along with two-passport size self signed color photographs (one duly pasted on the application form and the
other attached with the application form). Application form can also be downloaded from our website
www.ncr.railnet.gov.in

7.2 The application form should be filled in all respect by the candidate in his own handwriting and send on the following
address along with prescribed fee or application may also be dropped in the box kept in the CPO office, Block ‘B’
Headquarters Office, Subedarganj, Allahabad on any working day (MON to FRI) between 10.00 hrs to 16.00 hrs.

7.3 The envelope should be super scribed ‘NCR Sports/Rectt/2009-10” and NAME OF GAME for which applied for
should also be mentioned in bracket on the envelope.

7.4 Copies of certificates for date of birth, educational qualifications and sports achievements as well as other documents
should be enclosed with application form duly attested by Gazetted Officer.

7.5 Applications, which are incomplete or not in the prescribed format, shall be summarily rejected. Applications received
without prescribed application fee in the form of Indian Postal Order in favour of FA&CAO, NCR, Allahabad payable
at Allahabad to which the candidates desire to apply, shall also be summarily rejected.

8. The last date for receipt of application is 12.10.2009 upto 16.00 hrs. Railway will not be responsible for any postal delay.

9. The candidates working in Government or Semi Government organization will apply through proper channel.

North Central Railways, in its present form, came into existence on 1st Of April 2003. North Central Railways present network extends over a large area of North Central India, covering the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana .
Geographically NCR is the heart of Railway network and extends from (exclusive) in the North to MGS (exclusive) in the east and Bina (exclusive in the South. This network spans over parts of UP., Haryana, Rajasthan & MP. This has a total of 3062 route Kms, predominantly double line electrified section. This route from GZB to MGS is a part of golden quadrilateral. NCR consists of 202 main line stations & 221 branch line stations. This Zone forms a corridor for trains almost directions viz. East to North and North to East a total of 29 pairs of M/Exp. Trains daily West/South to North and North to South/ West total 37 pairs of M/Exp. Trains daily East to SW & SW to East a total of 25 pairs of M/Exp. Trains daily East to West & West to East a total of 12 pairs of M/Exp. Trains Daily
Serving the heartland of India, the NCR extends from Mughalsurai(excluding) on the east and Ghaziabad (excluding) Headquartered at Allahabad, the North Central Railways comprises of the following three divisions.

2.Jhansi
3.Agra
NCR also has workshops at Jhansi and Sithouli (Gwalior).
