HSC 12th standard marks and returning back to India

I currently work in USA. I completed both BS and MS in engineering from a large American university (Penn State) with good grades. I have 6 years of experience working in the best technology company in US, a six sigma certification and a certificate in management. I plan to return back to India next year and work as an engineer for either an MNC or a reputed Indian company. Since I had plans to move to US for my BS, I focused on my SAT scores and my HSC (12th standard) score is low. I had scored good marks in 10th standard. I have heard that employers in India look for good 12th standard score in addition to engineering marks. Is this true? How many employers really evaluate candidates based on the marks they secured in 12th standard? Please advice. Thank you very much.

I am not in the software field (if that is where you are in).
I dont know of any company which asks for HSC marks after Masters degree plus 6 years of experience.

However, they may ask if you are a fresher.

Anybody in software field please confirm if they ask for HSC marks after graduation plus some years of experience.

Companies are even not bothered about what college you graduated from unless you are a fresher.

For experienced candidates, mostly they are interested in what you did in the last 5 years. They may be concerned if you had gone without job for six months or more.

I am from Mechanical Engineering background. I have worked in Chennai, Mumbai, Malaysia, Norway. I am answering strictly with my experience in mind. This is the general rule, however there may be exceptions.
