ADMISSION TO Ph.D. PROGRAMME
(Only for JRF Fellowship Holders of UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT/INSPIRE)

Applications are invited from highly motivated students for admission to the Ph.D. programme beginning in August 2014 at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum.

Eligibility:
(1) Post-graduate degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer chemistry/ Polymer sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Physiology, Zoology or any other branch of life sciences (excluding plant sciences and Bioinformatics). M.Tech in Polymer Engineering/Technology, M.Tech in Materials Science or Post graduate degree in Public Health, Cardiovascular Sciences, Neurosciences and Imaging & Interventional Radiology, Dentistry, Nursing, Veterinary Sciences, Social Sciences and Statistics.
(2) JRF HOLDERS ONLY (UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT/INSPIRE).

Minimum marks required to apply:
Consistently good academic record with 60% (GPA 6.5/10) marks in undergraduate and post graduate examinations. For applying for Ph.D. in medical specialties, the candidate must have a post graduate qualification with minimum 60% marks (First Class) in MBBS.
Individual with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) obtained on the basis of a national level test (UGC,CSIR,ICMR,DBT) or INSPIRE only need apply and selection will be based on Interview.
For any area of research under Health Science Studies, candidates will be selected on the basis of a written test and interview.

Fee : The cost of application form is Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) (For SC/ST candidates Rs.800/-) [to be sent by Demand draft drawn from any Nationalized Bank in favour of “DIRECTOR, SCTIMST” PAYABLE AT “TRIVANDRUM”. Any fee paid once will be not be refunded.
