Coaching for I.A.S., I.P.S., Preliminary Examination - 2014

Applications are invited from candidates of Tamil Nadu, desirous to undergo coaching for U.P.S.C. Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination - 2014. Coaching will be conducted for 6 / 8 months at the above centre from December, 2013. Those who have already undergone coaching in this Institute under regular stream for Preliminary or Main Examination need not apply.

Qualification : Degree from a recognized University

Age limit (as on 1-8-2014) :
Minimum: 21 years for all candidates
Maximum: 30 years for General Candidates
The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable:
i)upto a maximum of 5 years if a candidate belongs to SC/ST/SC(A)
ii) upto a maximum of 3 years in the case of candidates belonging to BC/MBC/DNC/ BC(M)
iii)upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and orthopaedically handicapped persons.

Hostel : Free coaching and Boarding is provided for the Residential Stream.

Fees :
(a) Full – time (Residential)“Other Community” students of residential streams will have to pay a tuition fee of Rs. 1000/- only for the entire course.
(b) Part – time (Non – Residential)Candidates, selected for part-time course are not eligible for hostel accommodation and have to pay a nominal tuition fee of Rs. 3,000/- only for the entire course. Part-time classes will be conducted on Week days (6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.) and Saturday & Sunday.

Entrance Examination Centres : Chennai, Chidambaram, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Madurai, Salem, Sivagangai, Thanjavur, Tiruchirappalli, Thirunelveli, and Vellore (Choose any one of the Centres)

Procedure to apply for coaching:
The applicants from districts other than Chennai can receive their applications from the District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Office at the District Collectorates, on all working days, giving proof of their age and educational qualification and submit it in the same office duly filled.

Candidates from Chennai can receive and submit their application in the below mentioned address.

Entrance Examination :
Eligible candidates will have to appear for an Entrance Examination for two hours with Objective type questions on History of India and Indian National Movement, India and World Geography, Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and Social Development, General Science, Current Events, General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate change, Basic Numeracy, Logical reasoning, General mental ability and Comprehension at 10.30 a.m. on 10.11.2013 (Sunday). Qualified candidates in each category will be called for admission. No TA / DA shall be paid for attending the Entrance Examination.
