Sub:- Filling up of the technical posts–under Costal Security Scheme-On contract basis – Ex-Navy / Ex-Coast Guard- Reg.

Applications are invited from the eligible Ex-Navy / Ex-Coast Guard personnel for filling up of following technical posts under Coastal Security Scheme on contract basis initially for a period of one year (maximum five years).

Name of post : Master (ASI)
Number of post : 4
Eligibility : Ex- Navy/ Coast Guard personnel at least in the rank of Petty Officer/Pradhan Navik possessing minimum 10 years experience in service with fair knowledge in Navigation, Rules of the Road (ROR), Boat handling and working knowledge in operation of navigation and communication equipment.

Name of post : Engine Driver (ASI)

Eligibility : Ex- Navy/ Coast Guard personnel at least in the rank of Petty Officer/Pradhan Navik/Artficer /Yantrik possessing minimum 10 years experience in service with fair knowledge in trouble shooting technical defects of marine engines and having ability to undertake essential repairs and periodical maintenance of propulsion machinery and auxiliary equipments

Applications are invited from the interested Male candidates with the following Educational Qualifications to work in the peripheral units of the Department of Fisheries and Headquarter Kavaratti as Enumerators/ Data Entry Operators on Contract basis for a period of one year. Candidates from the same island where the posts are notified will be given priority in selection and if the candidates are not available from the particular island then only candidates from other islands will be considered.

Pay : Rate admissible for skilled labourers under UTL Administration
No. of posts : 11 (Eleven) one each in all 10 islands & 1 at HQ Kvt.
Age :20 - 35 years

Educational :
(a) Pass in BFSc / Aquaculture from a recognized qualifications University or Diploma in Fisheries Science with one year experience in Data collection and Fisheries Statistics .
(b) Pass in one year Computer course in MS office (MS Word, MS Excell, Power Point, MS Access etc.,) from a recognized Institution.

Nature of duty :
(a) Collection of species wise Fish Landing Data (length, weight, sex etc.,) and collection of finished/marketed fish product data.
(b) Collection of Fisheries Statistics like Fishermen Population, Number of Crafts, Gears etc.,
(c) Compiling and analyzing of the data
(d) Any other work assigned by undersigned from time to time.
