Sub: Increase in Registration for JNV Selection Test 2015 for admission of students to Class VI for the Academic Year 2015-16.
As per the Time Activity Schedule for 2015, last date for submission of application form is 31st October, 2014. As already conveyed to you, the target of the Samiti is to increase registration of girls, SC, ST and Minority category students by at least 10% over the previous year. Following actions have already been taken by the Samiti to achieve this target:
1) Detailed instructions for increase in registration and publicity for JNVST have been conveyed to all Regional Offices and Vidyalayas vide Samiti’s letter of even number dated 2"" July, 2014. The action plan suggested therein should be strictly followed.
2) District Magistrate of all the Districts have been requested by Commissioner, NVS vide letter dated July, 2014 to take personal interest in increasing registration for JNVST. A copy of this letter was also sent to Principals of all JNVs with a request to personally meet the District Collector and seek their cooperation in increasing publicity. This matter should be sincerely followed up by all JNVs.
3) Director General, Doordarshan and D6 of All India Radio have also been requested to given due publicity to the through all local Doordarshan channels and All India Radio stations during prime time through letter dated 31-7-2014 from Commissioner, NVS. All Regional Offices and Principals ofJNVs must contact local Doordarshan channels and Radio Stations for arranging adequate publicity for JNVST.
Since about two months time is left for submission of applications for JNVST 2015, you are requested to make sincere efforts on the issues mentioned above and in particular on the following points :
1) Request the DC/Chairman, VMC to write letters to BEO/Headmasters of Primary Schools for increase in enrolment of applications.
2) Request DC/Distt. Education Officer to fix targets to the Headmasters and Block level Education Officers for enhancement of enrolment of candidates.
3) Release advertisement in the local newspapers and newspapers in local languages.
4) Personally contact to Sarpanch/Pradhans of Villages to appraise them of NVS Scheme, its achievements, admission process, JNVST 2015 and distribution of application forms to eligible students.
5) Contact the Headmasters of Primary School for wide publicity and maximum registration of students from their Vidyalayas.
6) Announcement through Radio, Cable TV/TV
7) Write to the Youth Clubs and other voluntary organisations for encouraging children for applying for JNVST. I
8) Request the Vidyalaya alumni to propagate about the examination and admission.
9) Hold parents meeting and request them for canvassing to other eligible students and parents in their village to apply for admission.
10) Printing and distribution of posters and pamphlets in the villages and weekly bazaars of the district.
11) Exhibition of the slides in the local cinema halls.
12) Obtain assistance of field publicity units of Govt. of India as well as State Govt.
13) Approach NCC/NSS wing of local colleges for publicity and enrolment.
14) Invite students and teachers from local primary schools to nearby for participating in various activities to increase awarcness.
Apart from the above, meetings can be convened at your level with all teaching and nonteaching staff to discuss and prepare an extensive action plan to attract quantum registration.
It may also be ensured that registration of candidates and submission of application forms is completed in all respect before 31 st October, 2014 as no further extension at all will be allowed keeping in view various other activities which are required to be performed before conduct of Selection Test.
Regions/State-wise meetings with DEOs/DIOs and Principals should be conducted in September-October 2014 for a midterm assessment of the registration process, identifying the areas which need to be concentrated and for solving any issue which may hinder achievement of above targets.
The above instructions must be complied with strictly and with due sincerity.
