Essential Qualifications:
Engineer ‘D’ : 1st class B.E./B. Tech. with 7 years’ post qualification experience or M. Tech. with 5 years’ post qualification experience.

Scientific Assistant ‘B’ : B. Sc. with minimum 60% marks or B.Sc. (Hons.) with minimum 55% marks.

Technician ‘C’ : 8 years post qualification experience (ITI certificates based on a curriculum of one year duration) OR, 7 years post qualification experience (ITI certificates based on a curriculum of two years duration).

Technician ‘B’ : 3 years post qualification experience (ITI certificates based on a curriculum of one year duration), OR, 2 years post qualification experience (ITI certificates based on a curriculum of two years duration).

For Library : Higher Secondary (at least 50% marks with science & mathematics) or Secondary (at least 60% marks) with 5 years’ post qualification experience.

Essential Qualifications for all the above posts:
i) Candidates with Ph.D. degree with at least two years of post-doctoral experience with some recognition amongst scientists in his/her area of specialization by the merit or his/her publications.
ii) The candidate should have proven ability of guiding research ofjunior workers, ability to communicate and interact with other scientists, and flexibility of outlook and attitude to take independent charge of assigned sub areas belonging to a major project or broad area of research of the Institute.

Experience in the related field and desirable Qualifications (DQ):
For Theory Division: The candidate should have expertise of working in the area of String Theory and related areas. A good foundation, independence, originality and excellence in research output as evident from the publications in reputed journals, are the qualities sought.

For Experimental Condensed Matter Physics Division : The candidate should have proven research experience as evident from the publications in reputed journals during last five years in at least one of the areas of research ;
(a) Growth and characterisation of single crystals and/or low dimensional systems of oxides or intermetallic compounds;
(b) Condensed matter physics experiments probing quantum phenomena.

For Plasma Physics Division : The candidate should have expertise of working in the area of experimental plasma physics having capabilities of developing experimental setups and diagnostics and having sound knowledge in plasma physics for analysis and interpretation of data. The candidate should have proven research experience as evident from the publications in reputed journals during last five years

Essential qualifications:
(a) A good Master’s degree or a good Graduate degree of a recognized university preferably in Science followed by professional degree of recognized university / Institute.
(b) 10 years of administrative experience in Group A, out of which 6 years should be at Senior Administrative Capacity with a Scientific Institution of research and development. The person should be skilled in public relation as well as to interact with the scholars, scientists, scientific assistants, trade unions etc.

Desirable:
(a) Familiarity with procedure of modern management techniques and clear vision in projection as well as preparing plan & non plan Budgets and to be able to articulate policy matters and adequate experience in minuting meetings.
(b) Experience of working as Secretary in Committees and should be capable of handling council meeting, drafting of resolutions, agendas related with the educational/research matters independently with skill to implement the same into action.
(c) The person is expected to interact with the Department of Atomic Energy headquarters extensively at Mumbai.
(d) Experience in handling of legal, vigilance, disciplinary cases, RTI related matter and knowledge of General Financial Rules.
(e) Proficient in MS-Office, MS-Excel etc. The candidate must also be well conversant with the use of the internet for smooth functioning of the administration in a computerized atmosphere.
