On Line Admission Session Stream-1 (2011-12) Block-II for October 2012 Examination is Open

NIOS has introduced 100% On-line admission. Under this scheme learners have the options to

(a) register themselves On-line directly
(b) may visit their nearest Accredited Institution (AI) (study centre)/Facilitation Centre and take their help for On-line registration.
(c) may visit their Regional Centre for on line-registration.

Stream-1: Online Admission for all learners 2011-12(Block-II) for October 2012 Examination - This stream for online Admission is open for new Learners for October 2012 Examination as per the laid down eligibility criteria for Secondary & Sr. Secondary Levels. These Learners will be eligible to appear in Public Examination first time in October 2012.

NIOS STARTS ON-LINE ADMISSION THROUGHOUT THE YEAR (24X7)
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is an autonomous and registered organization established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India with the prime objective to offer academic courses at Secondary and Sr. Secondary levels, including Vocational & Technical Education, and Open Basic Education at three levels (A, B & C) equivalent to Class III, V, & VIII for those who are above 14+ in age. It also provides professional advice to the Government of India and to the States regarding the properdevelopment of Open and Distance Learning System at the School level. Ministry of Human Resource Department, Govt. of India has vested NIOS with the authority to register, examine and certify student register with it upto pre-degree level courses. The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has granted equivalence to NIOS courses with those of other recognized Boards for the purpose of admission to higher courses of study at Indian Universities.

How to get associated with nios I am the Principal of a matriculation school at chennai. I would love to support students of varied interests. How to get accredited to NIOS?

Sir, You have to contact NIOS in writing and let them know. As far as I could see, there is no documentation detailing how private institutes can get accredited and work with NIOS. May be i might have missed something.

Hi,
I had appeared for my 12th CBSE board examinations in 2008 and passed with a compartment in one subject -'ECONOMICS' . For which i gave a the compartment examination and failed yet again. Since then, till date i did not appear for any of the re compartments due to un-explainable / personal issues.

Now, i wish to appear through NIOS. However i am simply confused as to go with 'on demand examinations' or to appear through the 'October 2012 stream 2' Examination!!-
I had planned to go through the Stream 2 Oct'2012 exams, however while going through it, i find that i can choose a minimum of 1 Subject which is confusing for me.
Would choosing just economics do the trick and help me get into college or should i appear for at least 5 Subjects.
