Minimum Qualifications :
(i) M.E/M. Tech degree or equivalent in an appropriate area with minimum CPI of 6.5 in 10 point scale (60% marks) OR
(ii) B.E/B. Tech with an excellent academic record and with CPI of at least 8 in 10 point scale (70% marks) for admission in Engineering Deptts OR
(iii) M.Sc. in Science with relevant discipline with first class or a minimum of CPI 6.5 in 10 point scale (60% marks) or equivalent for admission in Science deptts
(iv) M.A. with a minimum of CPI 6.0 in 10 point scale (55% marks) or equivalent for admission in Humanities and Social Science Deptt.

Assistantship : Assistantship to regular full-time students with valid GATE/NET score OR as per Institute rules may be awarded subject to availability of fund for M.Tech and Ph.D. (Science & Humanities).

i) Application format can be downloaded from the website OR Application Form is also available in the office of the Supdt, Academic free of cost OR Candidates interested to collect the form by post should send a self-addressed A4 size envelop affixing stamps of Rs.50.00, to Superintendent, Academic, NIT Silchar.

ii) Application form complete in all respects should reach the
Heads of the respective Deptts,
N.I.T. Silchar,
within 15-12-2012 by superscribing “Application for admission into Ph.D programme under _______________ Dept”, on the envelope.
