ADMISSIONS 2013

(i) Research Programmes [Ph D / M Sc (Engg)] :
a. Ph D in Science Faculty
b. M Sc(Engg) and Ph D in Engineering Faculty
c. Ph D in Interdisciplinary areas
Eligibility :
Candidates possessing a minimum of second class in the following degrees are eligible to apply;
i) Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate field of Engineering/Technology/Architecture/ Medicine/ Agriculture/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary Sciences; or Masters degree in Science in an appropriate field including Biotechnology, or Masters in Economics, Geography, Social Work, Psychology, Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, Operations Research, Computer Science/ Application as applicable to the respective departments.
ii) Qualifying in one of the following appropriate Tests (with validity as on 1st of August 2013) is mandatory ;CSIR-UGC NET for JRF; or UGC-NET for JRF; or DBT JRF; or ICMR JRF; or JEST 2013; or NBHM 2013; or IISc Entrance Test 2013; or GATE 2012/2013 or INSPIRE Fellows (for Ph D). Qualifying in these tests is not mandatory but desirable for candidates who possess a Master?s degree in Engineering/Technology/ M Sc(Engg) or MS or MBA (post BE/B Tech) and wish to apply for the departments in the Engineering Faculty.

(ii) Course Programmes [ME/M Tech/M Des /M.Mgt] :
a) Master of Engineering (ME) :
Eligibility : Candidates possessing a minimum of second class in Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of Engineering/ Technology or equivalent degree with valid GATE score are eligible to apply.

(b) Master of Technology (M Tech) :
Eligibility : Candidates possessing a minimum of second class in the following qualifying degree with valid GATE score are eligible to apply;
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of Engineering/Technology; or Master's degree in Science, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Instrumentation, Electronics or Masters in Computer Application as applicable to the respective departments.

(c) Master of Design (M Des) : Product Design & Engineering
Eligibility : Candidates possessing a minimum of second class in Bachelor?s degree in Engineering / Technology / Design / Architecture? with valid GATE/CEED scores are eligible to apply.

(d) Master of Management (M.Mgt) :
Eligibility : Candidates possessing a minimum of first class in Bachelor?s degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent degree with a valid GATE/CAT/GMAT scores are eligible to apply.

(iii) Integrated Ph D Programmes : (1) Biological Sciences, (2) Chemical Sciences, (3) Physical Sciences and (4) Mathematical Sciences.
Eligibility : Candidates possessing a minimum of first class in B Sc or equivalent degree in Physical, Mathematical, Chemical, Biological Sciences (including Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences) are eligible to apply to an appropriate disciplines. BE / B Tech degree holders are eligible to apply only to Mathematical Sciences discipline.

(iv) EXTERNAL REGISTRATION PROGRAMMES (ERP) :
Eligibility : Qualifications remain the same as for the regular candidates. Further, the candidates should have two years of continuous service in a permanent position in the present organisation ? Age: NOT higher than 40 years as on 01.04.2013.
Desirable: Qualifying in one of the tests;IISc Entrance Test,CSIR-UGC NET for JRF,UGC-NET for JRF, DBT JRF,ICMR JRF, GATE, NBHM, etc.

How To Apply :
i) Application for all the programmes mentioned above are available online only, prospective candidates should apply online.

ii) Sponsored candidates from Defence, DRDO, BARC, ISRO, NAL, KSRTC, BMTC, BDA, PWD and CPRI applying for the course programmes should compulsorily fill in the online application form and submit the printed version on or before March 15, 2013.
