There are two M.Sc. (Integrated) courses for Plus Two students offered by Kerala Agricultural University :
1. M.Sc. Biotechnology (Integrated) :
The M. Sc. Biotechnology (Integrated) course was started during 2009-10 with budgetary support from Govt. of Kerala with the objective of improving the quality of biotechnology education in the state. The duration of the course is 5 years (after Plus two). The course will be conducted in multi-institutional mode, involving institutions engaged in biotechnology teaching / research, to facilitate the utilization of highly competent manpower and facilities. This course is offered at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani, Thiruvananthapuram.

2. M.Sc. Climate Change Adaptation (Integrated) :
The M.Sc. (Integrated) Climate Change Adaptation Programme was started during 2010 and is offered at ACCER, Main campus, Thrissur. This course envisaged to be of high standard, conducted in multi institutional mode, making use of the manpower and facilities of various reputed institutions in the relevant field.

Eligibility :
Students having passed 10+2 level examination of various boards in India, as well as CBSE or equivalent to 10+2 level examinations with science subjects will be eligible for applying for admission to this course. The student should have secured minimum 60% marks for general category and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates or equivalent grades. Admission will be based on the performance in an entrance examination conducted by the Kerala Agricultural University.

Reservation of seats :
Reservation of seats shall be governed by the rules of the Kerala State Government.

Duration of the programmes :
The minimum prescribed duration shall be 10 semesters (five academic years) excluding the period of temporary discontinuance, if any.

Application fee :
General category : Rs. 750
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe : Rs. 375

Enclosures :
Each application for admission shall be accompanied with the following :
a) Counterfoil of fees remitted/ Demand Draft for the application fee as prescribed.
b) Community Certificate obtained from a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Village Officer in the case of SC/ST candidates.
c) Attested copies of certificates in proof of age, qualifications, mark list of qualifying examination etc.
d) One self-addressed stamped (worth Rs. 10/-) envelope of size 23 cm x 10 cm.

Selection :
The selection of candidates will be based on an entrance examination conducted by the Kerala Agricultural University. The questions will be objective type and based on the syllabus (Physics & Chemistry, Biology/Maths and General Knowledge) for the Kerala Entrance Examination 2012 of the Commissioner for Entrance Examination, Kerala.

Course fee :
(i) Rs. 30,000 per semester for M.Sc. Biotechnology (Integrated)
(ii) Rs. 50,000 for M.Sc. Climate Change Adaptation (Integrated).

Allotment of the course will be based on the preference by the candidate & rank in the common entrance exam :
07/07/2012 : Saturday 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 Noon. Paper 1 –Physics & Chemistry
07/07/2012 : Saturday 2.00 p.m. to 3.20 p.m. Paper II–Mathematics/Biology & General Knowledge

Announcement of results :
A list of candidates selected for admission and the dates on which they have to remit the fees and join the course will be published on the notice board at the University headquarters, Vellanikkara and through the KAU Website.
