Institute of Rail Transport (IRT) conducts following Three One Year and One Two Years Correspondence Diploma courses for Graduates/Diploma Holders from recognized University / Institutes OR Sr. Secondary with minimum 3 years working experience in any Govt. Organisation / PSUs.

One Year Diploma Course

I TRANSPORT ECONOMICS & MANAGEMENT (TEM):
Course starts from January / February, every year.

II MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORT (CONTAINERISATION) & LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT (MMT):
Course starts from March / April, every year.

III RAIL TRANSPORT & MANAGEMENT (RTM):
Course Starts from May / June every year.

For all the above three courses, the Prospectus costs is Rs.100/- (each) and Course Fee is Rs.4000/- (each)

Two Years Diploma Course

PORT DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT (PDM) :
Course starts from May / June every year.
COURSE FEE: Prospectus costs is Rs.100/- and Course Fee is Rs.6000/- for two years.
All the courses are Recognised by Ministry of Railways. These courses are designed to improve career advancement of serving employees and of help students in seeking employment. Prospectus can be collected on any working day for Rs. 100/- for each course by cash at the counter OR by Demand Draft in favour of Institute of Rail Transport, New Delhi, alongwith a self –addressed, stamped Rs. 15/- envelope (11”x5”). Write your name, address and course name at the back of the draft.

Institute remains closed on Saturdays / Sundays.

The Institute of Rail Transport [IRT] was incorporated in 1964,with its headquarters in New Delhi, It has branches at all nine zonal Railway Headquarters-Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati, Gorakhpur, Secunderabad and also Research Design and Standards Organisation at Lucknow, Integral Coach Factory at Chennai, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works at Chittaranjan, Diesel Locomotive Works at Varanasi, Wheel & Axle Plant at Bangalore, Centre for Railway Information Services [CRIS] at New Delhi and Rail Coach Factory at Kapurthala. The IRT is managed by a Governing Council which includes Chairman and Members of the Railway Board, the General Managers of the Zonal Railways Production units and other Senior Railway Personnel.
