ADMISSION NOTICE 2013-14

A competitive All India Entrance Examination will be held for admission to the Ph.D. programme in different disciplines on Friday, the 10TH May, 2013 at following centres;

Examination Centres : NDRI, Karnal (Haryana)
SRS, of NDRI, Adugodi, Bengaluru (Karnataka)
ERS of NDRI, Kalyani (West Bengal)

Disciplines :
Dairy Microbiology, Dairy Chemistry, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Animal Biochemistry, Animal Biotechnology, Animal Genetics & Breeding, Livestock Production & Management, Animal Nutrition, Animal Physiology, Agricultural Economics/Livestock Economics, Agricultural Extension Education/Veterinary Extension Education.

Eligibility :
Candidates having passed (or due to appear in the final examination) their Master’s degree in the concerned field with Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of at least 6.60/10.00 in ten-point scale, at least 3.25/5.00 in five-point scale, at least 2.60/4.00 in four-point scale for General, OBC and UPS categories candidates whereas for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates the said requirement is an OGPA of at least 5.60/10.00, 2.75/5.00, 2.20/4.00 respectively.

In other cases, where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General, OBC and UPS categories whereas for SC/ST/PH the requirement is 50% marks. (Please note that equivalence between OGPA and % marks will not be acceptable). The candidate must have completed all requirements including thesis viva voce examination or project training etc. on or before 31st July, 2013.

How to Apply :
Information Bulletin and Application Form can be obtained from the office of Academic Coordinator by post w.e.f.1.2..2013 to 11.3.2013 and from the cash Counter of Cashier, NDRI, Karnal w.e.f. 1.2.2013 to 15.3.2013 by paying Rs. 1200/- in cash.

The Information Bulletin can also be obtained by post from the Academic Coordinator , NDRI, Karnal-132 001 (Haryana) by submitting a DD of Rs. 1200/- drawn in favour of “ICAR UNIT, NDRI, KARNAL” payable on any Nationalised Bank at Karnal. No cheque/ postal order/ money order is acceptable. While making request for supply of information bulletin the following information should be given:
1. Name (in capital letters)
2. Full Postal address with PIN code.
3. Course in which candidate seeking admission.
4. Details of Demand Draft.

The application form and information bulletin can also be downloaded from NDRI Website.

The completed form may be submitted to the
Academic Coordinator,
University Office,
National Dairy Research Institute,
Karnal-132001
along with bank draft of Rs.1200/- on or before 20th of March, 2013.
The bank draft must be drawn in favour of “ICAR Unit, NDRI, Karnal” payable at Karnal.

I have passed my M.Sc in Zoology. Am I eligible for P.Hd 2013 in NDRI?
