RECRUITMENT RALLY FOR GROUP ‘X’ (TECHNICAL) TRADES
AT MGR STADIUM, MADURAI (TAMIL NADU)
FROM 22 JULY 2012 TO 25 JULY 2012

Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from all the Districts of State of Tamil Nadu and UTs of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Puducherry and Karaikal to become airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades will be held at MGR Stadium, Madurai (Tamil Nadu) from 22 July 2012 to 25 July 2012 as per the Selection Programme given below.

SELECTION PROGRAMME :
The Recruitment Test will be conducted from 7 AM onwards as per the details given below. Candidates reporting up to 10 AM at the Rally Venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Test.

Important Dates :
i) Written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Interview for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades. : 22 July 2012
ii) Trade Allocation Test (TAT) and Medical Examination for candidates qualified in Interview on 22 July 2012. : 23 July 2012
DISTRICTS TO BE COVERED : UTs OF ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS, PUDUCHERRY AND KARAIKAL AND ALL THE DISTRICTS OF STATE OF TAMIL NADU

DATE OF BIRTH BLOCK : Candidates should be born between 01 July 1991 to 30 September 1995

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION :
(a) Candidate should have passed Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. OR
(b) Three year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics or Automobile or Computer Science or Instrumentation Technology or Information Technology) with at least 50% marks in overall aggregate from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute.

MEDICAL STANDARDS :
(a) General Medical Standards for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades are as follows;
(i) Height : Minimum height required is 152.5 cms.
(ii) Chest : Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm
(iii) Weight : Proportionate to height and age.
(iv) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable.
(v) Hearing : Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
(vi) Dental : Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.
(vii) Health : Candidate should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades involve jobs as given below;
Automobile Fitter.
Electronics Fitter.
Electrical Fitter.
Mechanical System Fitter.
Structures Fitter.
Propulsion Fitter.
Workshop Fitter (Smith).
Workshop Fitter (Mechanical).
Weapon Fitter.

VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY : Certificates / Mark Sheets and other required documents will be scrutinized and verified at the examination venue on the days of written test.

WRITTEN TEST.
PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST (PFT).
INTERVIEW.
TRADE ALLOCATION TEST (TAT).
MEDICAL EXAMINATION.

PUBLISHING OF AISL :
The All India Select List (AISL) will be displayed at 8 Airmen Selection Centre, Air Force Station Tambaram, Chennai (Tamil Nadu) on 17 AUGUST 2012. A copy of the Display List will be sent to District Magistrate of Madurai (Tamil Nadu) (through Airmen Selection Centre) and also available at Indian Air Force website .The inclusion of names of the candidates in the AISL depends upon the performance of the candidates in the Selection Test.

Design and Fabrication of a Low cost wind Turbine using NACA 4412, NACA 0012 and NACA 0015 profiles
Internal Guide : Professor S.C Ghosh, M.Sc (Engg) Organization: Anna University, Tirunelveli
The project was concerned with the design and fabrication of a low cost wind mill. Aerodynamic studies on different blade profiles namely NACA 4412, NACA 4415 and NACA 0012 were carried out for the blade design. The project describes the experimental results for different airfoil sections, material selection process, number of magnets to be used, assembly and other related electrical works. The windmill was able to produce 750-900 W and the installation cost was also very less.

- Presented a paper entitled ‘Aircraft Structures’ in PRESENTEC’09 hosted by Infant Jesus college of Engineering, Tuticorin.
- Designed a low cost wind turbine and displayed it in the National level Aero-expo held at Infant Jesus College of Engineering, Tuticorin
