Application in prescribed form are invited for admission to two-year full time M. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Microwaves) Course for the session 2012-2014 at the Department of Physics. The course is approved by AICTE.

The applicants would be classified in three categories viz.
Category A : GATE-qualified BE/B.Tech. candidates,
Category B : Sponsored Candidates having at least 2 years’ working experience in related field after passing out and
Category C : Non-GATE BE/B.Tech. candidates.

Selection criteria :
Merit of selection of the candidates under different categories would be determined on the basis of the following;
For Category-A : GATE Score, marks in B.E./B.Tech and performance in the interview;
For Category-B (Sponsored) : Performance in the interview and work experience;
For Category-C : Marks of written test, marks in B.E./B.Tech and performance in the interview.

The schedule of admission for the categories A, B & C will be as under;
For categories A & B :
Date of Interview of candidates : 12 noon on 10.07.2012
Date of Publication of merit list : 12.07.2012
Date of Admission of candidates : 17.07.2012
From 11 a.m. to 1-00 p.m. for 1st list
From 1 p.m. to 1-30 p.m. for wait list

For category C : (In case of vacancies remaining after 17.07.2012)
Date of Publication of short list : 18.07.2012
Date of Written Test for short listed candidates : 12 noon on 20.07.2012
Date of Publication of result of the Written Test : 1- 24.07.2012
Date of Interview of candidates selected in the Written Test : 12 noon on 25.07.2012
Date of Publication of merit list : 27.07.2012
Date of Admission of candidates : 30.07.2012
From 11 a.m. to 1-00 p.m. for 1st list
From 1-00 p.m. to 1-30 p.m. for Wait list

How to Apply :
i) Application forms may be had from the university website
ii) Candidates may apply on the basis of forms downloaded from the website but such forms, duly filled-in, must reach to

along with a copy of the challan for payment of Rs. 150/- to the Cash Section of the University or a Demand Draft for Rs.200/- drawn in favour of the “Finance Officer, Burdwan University”, payable at “SBI, Burdwan University Branch, Burdwan” and a self-addressed stamped envelope for sending the Provisional Admit Card.

Note :
** List of selected candidates will be displayed in the notice board at the office of the Faculty Council (Science) office at Rajbati, Burdwan, the Department of Physics, Burdwan University and also university website
** Candidates will be required to produce original copies of their testimonials at the time of interview and also at the time of admission, if selected. Sponsored candidates must submit necessary release order from the appropriate authorities.
** Classes for the course are likely to commence from 1st August, 2012
