Admission Rules 2012 : Policy and Procedure
B.Tech. Programme

The Admission Committee shall be responsible for conducting the B.Tech. Programmes (Engineering & Technology) admission procedure for the academic year 2012-13.

Eligibility :
Gujarat Quota :
The students who have appeared at All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2012) conducted by CBSE and passed Higher Secondary Examination (or its equivalent) i.e. 10+2 examination from the Schools located in the Gujarat State with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/SEBC candidate) in Science subjects (including practical) - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply. The students of PC (Physically Challenged)/SC/ST/SEBC/categories shall be included in the merit list of Open category provided they meet with the eligibility criteria of the Open category. The students of PC categories shall be included in the merit list of SC/ST/SEBC category provided they meet with the eligibility criteria of the respective categories.

All India Quota :
The students who have appeared at All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2012) conducted by CBSE and passed Higher Secondary Examination (or its equivalent) i.e. 10+2 examination from the Schools located in the States (except the Gujarat State) and the UTs with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST candidate) in theory of Science subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply. Students of SC/ST/PC categories shall be entitled to listing in the Open merit list provided they meet with the eligibility criteria of the Open category. The students of PC categories shall be included in the merit list of SC/ST category provided they meet with the eligibility criteria of the respective categories.

Candidates are required to have :
i) Mark sheet and certificate of Higher Secondary Examination (or its equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or that of qualifying examination listed below :
1. The 10+2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, including Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
2. Intermediate Science or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board / University.
3. Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy.
4. Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
5. H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
6. A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
7. 3 or 4 years Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education
8. If the 12th standard mark sheet does not indicate the separate marks for Theory and Practical for the concerned subject, the student shall have to submit the certificate as prescribed in the Annexure-I, from the School from which he passed 12th standard examinations.

Selection Process :
The eligible candidates seeking admission in the B.Tech. Programme, will have to either submit application in the prescribed form available through the selected branches of ORIENTAL BANK OF COMMERCE across India by paying ` 1,200/- as application-cum-process fee OR apply on-line through the University web-site for the registration of his candidature up to 9th June, 2012 (Up to 6.00 pm).

Merit List :
The Admission Committee shall prepare inter-se merit list for the eligible candidates on the basis of their All India Overall Rank for B.E./B.Tech. obtained in the AIEEE 2012 Examination.

Admission Process :
Candidates eligible as per the clause 2 may apply on or before the prescribed last date in one of the following modes :
Candidates eligible as per the Clause No.2.1 shall have to apply on or before the prescribed last date in one of the following modes :
a) On-Line application : through the University website www.pdpu.ac.in as per the instructions therein:
i) Submit “Part-A” of the On-line application form.
ii) Upload the scan copy of the necessary documents listed in the Clause 7.2.
iii) Pay the application fee (` 1200/-) through the internet banking/ debit card/ credit card.
iv) Successful payment made on or before 6 p.m. as on 9th June, 2012 will be considered for the valid application.
v) Submit the “Part-B” of the On-line application form within three days from the date of declaration of the result of AIEEE-2012 examination.

b) Off-Line application :
i) Purchase the application form along with the information brochure from the selected Branches of Oriental Bank of Commerce as mentioned on the University website.
ii) Submit the duly filled in application form along with the self attested photocopy of necessary documents listed in the Clause 7.2 to The Convener, Admission Committee (B. Tech.), Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Raisan, Gandhinagar–382 007 either by the Registered Post/Speed Post or through DTDC courier. The University has tie-up with DTDC courier and application packet sent through DTDC is delivered to the University on daily basis.
iii) Incomplete application form &/or any overwriting in it shall be liable to the rejection.

The list of the documents to be submitted along with the application :
i) One Passport size photo
ii) Copy of Std 10th Mark sheet
iii) Copy of Std. 12th Mark sheet, if available
iv) Copy of AIEEE Admit Card
v) Copy of valid Caste Certificate for reserved category candidates.( In English/Hindi)
vi) Copy of Medical Certificate under the Seal and Signature of Medical Superintendent/Civil Surgeon of Government Hospital (Dist. or State level) for Physically Challenged (PC) category candidates ( In English/Hindi) indicating the ability to perform the academic activities in the respective course along with disability not less than 40%.
vii) Latest Non-creamy layer certificate issued by the competent authority, for SEBC category of Gujarat along with documents.
