This brochure-cum-prospectus is published for enlightening those who intend to apply for admission to various Programmes in the Faculty of Medicine in the Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Rani Meyyammai College of Nursing of the Annamalai University during 2013-2014.

Department of Medical Education :
This Department, utilising the services of the staff and other facilities available in Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Rajah Muthiah Medical College Hospital, offers the following programmes of study:
1. Undergraduate Programmes
i. M.B.B.S. (Recognized by the MCI/GOI)
ii. B.P.T.
PG Degree Programmes in 19 Subjects & PG Diploma Programmes in 9 Subjects (vide – Prospectus for P.G. Programmes)
PG Degree Programme in Emergency Medicine (vide – Prospectus)
PG Degree Programme in Physiotherapy (M.P.T)
School of Nursing – Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (vide –Prospectus)

2. Department of Nursing
Undergraduate Degree Programme in Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing
Postgraduate Degree Programme in Nursing. M.Sc. Nursing

Eligibility for Admission :
Any Candidate who is a citizen of India with the following academic qualification can apply:
M.B.B.S. : Pass in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) of Tamilnadu with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually or an equivalent examination with A minimum of 50% aggregate marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes are however eligible if they have 40% aggregate marks taken together in the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and have passed the examination in those subjects as well as in English.

M.P.T. Programme : Every candidate seeking admission to the First Year of the M.P.T. programme must have acquired the B.P.T. degree of Annamalai University (or) a degree of any other University recognised as equivalent thereto by this University.

B.P.T. Programme : For all categories, a pass in the Higher Secondary examination (Plus Two Course) of Tamil Nadu or any examination accepted by Annamalai University, as its equivalent, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Botany/Zoology and English.

Minimum Age : Should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2013, i.e. should have been born on or before 31-12-1996.

Late applications and applications which are not in the prescribed form or which are not correctly filled in or in respect of which the prescribed certificates and documents are not received on or before the due date and applications which do not otherwise fulfil the terms of the instructions, will be considered defective and are liable for rejection. The University will not be responsible for any postal or other kinds of delay for the receipt of applications after the due date.
