    DR. RAM MANOHAR LOHIA AVADH UNIVERSITY, FAIZABAD
    ADMISSION NOTICE


    No.-RMLAU/Gen.-Admin/CET/2011/3736 Dated- January 9, 2012
    As per the decision communicated vide Government Order No.-1419(2)Sattar-1- 2011-16(26)/2011 dated 26 August, 2011 to conduct State level “Common Eligibility Test” for admission to various “Doctoral Programs” in State Universities of U.P., the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Faizabad shall conduct the above said test on
    April 29, 2012 at different centers.

    It is clarified that admission to various Doctoral Programs in State Universities of U.P. will be made by the individual State Universities, on the basis of “Eligibility Certificate” issued to successful candidates, as per provisions made in their Statutes/Ordinances etc.

    Eligibility :-
    1. Masters degree in relevant subject (See List of Subjects in Table-1) with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent Letter Grade/Grade Point under the Seven Point Letter Grade Scale laid down by the UGC. A 5% relaxation in minimum marks at PG level shall be given to SC/ST and physically
    handicapped/disabled candidates.
    OR
    The minimum educational qualification prescribed by the individual State
    University in their Statutes/Ordinances etc for admission to Doctoral
    program.

    2. The candidates appearing in Final year/Final semester examination are also eligible to apply. However they will have to produce their Final year/Final Semester examination result at the time of admission. The Eligibility test result of such candidates will be declared provisionally.

    3. ‘UGC minimum standards and procedures for award of M.Phil./Ph.D. degree Regulation 2009’ read with clarification on Guidelines for admission in Ph.D. circulated vide Letter No. F.1-1/2002(PS)/Exemp Part file III March 2011 shall be applicable with respect to NET qualified candidates. The above mentioned documents are available on University website
    www.rmlau.ac.in and also on UGC website www.ugc.ac.in.

    Examination Fee :-
    Rs. 800/= for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 400/= for SC/ST candidates.
    Syllabus :-
    The syllabus of this ‘Common Eligibility Test’ will be that prescribed for
    UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET-JRF Examinations which is available on the UGC/CSIR/ICAR websites.

    How to Apply :-
    1. Availability of the Application Form-
    The prescribed Application forms will be available from February 25, 2012. The candidates can obtain the prescribed application form through scheduled counter of the main branch of State Bank of India and Head Post Office of the cities as mentioned in Table-2.
    2. Last Date for Submission of Application Form-
    Duly filled-in application form should be sent to “The Registrar, Dr. Ram
    Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Faizabad-224001, U.P.” by Registered/Speed-Post only, so as to reach the Registrar’s Office on or before March 20, 2012 up to 5.00 pm. The university shall not be responsible for any postal delay whatsoever.

    Validity of ‘Eligibility Certificate’ :-
    The Common Eligibility Test ‘CET’ will determine the eligibility of candidates for registration/admission in Ph.D. Programmes in various U.P. State Universities. A list of qualified candidates along with their score will be notified for General/OBC/SC/ST categories. Eligibility certificate (with score) will be valid for next two years from the date of issue.

    Scheme of Test :-
    The Common Eligibility Test will be based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and shall have two papers as detailed below-
    1. Paper-I :- This paper of 2.00 hours duration will contain 100 MCQs based on research aptitude and general awareness and will be of 100 marks.
    2. Paper-II :- This paper of 3.00 hours duration will contain 200 MCQs based on Subject knowledge and will be of 200 marks.
    There shall be no negative marking.

    Qualifying Percentage :-
    To qualify the CET, candidates have to secure minimum 40% marks in each Paper and a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. 5% relaxation in minimum marks shall be available to SC/ST candidates.

    Examination Centres :-
    The CET will be held at various centres in 12 cities of Uttar Pradesh which are specified with their city codes in Table-02. No TA/DA will be admissible to any candidate for attending the test, in any circumstance.

    Admit Cards :-
    The admit card of eligible candidates for appearing in eligibility test will be sent by Post and shall also be available on university website www.rmlau.ac.in.
    Instructions for Filling the Application Forms :-
    All the entries in the Application form should be filled by the candidate in BLOCK LETTERS and by Black ball point pen. Avoid over-writing because it can cause error during computer scanning of the Application Form. Candidate should also ensure that his Photograph is affixed properly at specified place. A sample of filled Application form is attached as Appendix-1.

    Important :-
    1- The Test centre and the date of examination can be changed at the discretion of University conducting CET.
    2- All disputes pertaining to CET shall be within the Jurisdiction of Faizabad only.
