Applications for the position of the Electricity Ombudsman
Section 42(6) of the Electricity Act, 2003 provides for setting up of the institution of Electricity Ombudsman which is an Appellate Institution for hearing appeals against the orders issued by the Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum (CGRF), set up under Section 42(5) of the Electricity Act, 2003 by each power Distribution Company viz., BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd (BRPL), BSES Yamuna Power Ltd (BYPL), Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. [formerly North Delhi Power Ltd. (NDPL)] and also the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
The institution of Electricity Ombudsman for NCT of Delhi, including NDMC was set up in August, 2004 and is located at B-53, Paschimi Marg, Opposite Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi-110057. The tenure of the incumbent Ombudsman will come to an end in March, 2012.
Applications are invited from interested candidates for the position of the Electricity Ombudsman.
Eligibility Criteria & Other Conditions :-
1. The Ombudsman shall be a person of high integrity and repute and standing in any of the areas of law, management, engineering, finance, commerce, public administration or in non-governmental organization.
2. The Ombudsman shall be appointed from amongst such persons who have served at the level of Secretary in the Government of NCT of Delhi or equivalent or in case of persons having served in any public or private sector undertaking or an NGO, whose level of experience, in the opinion of the Commission, can be treated comparable to the aforesaid.
3. The appointment of Ombudsman shall be for a period of 3 years.
4. No person who has reached the age of 67 years shall be eligible for appointment as Ombudsman.
5. No person shall be eligible to be appointed as Ombudsman within two years of his/her retirement if, immediately before such retirement, he / she has been in the service of a General Company/Transmission or Distribution Licensee or in the Holding Company or subsidiary of such Company/Licensee in the NCT of Delhi.
6. The Ombudsman would be entitled to a consolidated salary of Rs.50,000/- per month, with 5% annual increment.

- I am responsible for maintenance of 135 MW Captive Power Plant, 2.5 MW DG sets, 220kv substation, and Oxygen plant. (740 TPD).
- Maintenance of electrical system of CAPTIVE POWER PLANT consistingof24.5MW+10.5MW+12.5MW+2.85MW+24.4MW+60MW of steam driven turbine-generator set. The whole plant is having its own 11KV, 6.6KV & 3.3KV switchgear. LT power distribution&MCCs.
- Maintenance of 220kv/11kv substation consisting of 2 incoming & 2 transformer feeders with 40MVA OLTC transformer, PLCC based communication & protection system with all protection & control system of all above equipment.
- Maintenance of 11KV sub-station consisting of 6 incoming & 63 out going various feeders like transformer feeder, motor feeder & capacitor bank feeder.
- Maintenance of PLC based control systems of 2 DG sets of 3150KVA capacity generating at 11KV with protection. Starting from grid failures sensing, isolating grid, starting of engine and resuming power this system is having auto as well as manual synchronizing of generator.
- Knowledge of system for running DG sets with grid and islanding mode. Back synchronizing of DG sets with grid when power resume to avoid power interruption. JOB PROFILE :
