The Chair: A Chair in the name of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan was established in 2003 under an endowment received from Department of Culture (Govt. of India) to conduct research on “peaceful and humane ways of solving crimes”.

Pay scale :Rs.55,000, & annual Contingency Grant of Rs.60,000.

Qualification: Applications are invited from Indian nationals for Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Professor.The candidate should hold a Masters Degree with at least 14 years experience in teaching, research, criminal justice administration or related fields. In addition, the candidate should be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of empirical and doctrinal research methodologies in the form of completed research projects.

The LNJN National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science (NICFS) was set up by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India in 1972 for promotion of Criminology and Forensic Science through education, research, training, publications and international collaborations. The Institute offers joint training courses for Officers of the Criminal Justice System and Forensic Scientists, and MA/MSc. courses in Criminology and Forensic Science (in affiliation with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi). The Institute also carries out research in Criminology and Forensic Science.
