(APPOINTMENT OF VARIOUS TEACHERS)
Accompaniment to the Advertisement No. 44 dated 9th July, 2010 for Teaching Positions in
the various Departments of the University of Pune.
Last date for receipt of application in the University Office is 14th August, 2010.
General / Minimum Qualifications:
Professor:
Essential :
A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification in the concerned / allied /
relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in
research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications
as books and / or research / policy papers.
(ii) A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in university / college, and /
or experience in research at the University / National Level institutions /
industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at
doctoral level.
(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses,
and technology – mediated teaching learning process.
(iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API)
based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) developed by UGC in
the Regulations, 2010.
OR
B. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field,
who has made significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned /
allied / relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.
Desirable : 10 years teaching experience at PG level.
Professor (Music / Dance / Drama Disicipline)
(i) An eminent scholar with a doctoral degree actively engaged in research with ten
years of experience in teaching in University/College and/or research at the
University/National level institutions including experience of guiding research at
doctoral level with outstanding performing achievements in the field of
specialization.
OR
(ii) A traditional and a professional artist with highly commendable professional
achievement in the concerned subject, who should be or have:
(a) ‘A’ grade artist of AIR/TV (applicable for Music and Dance);
(b) Twelve years of outstanding performing achievements in the field of
specialization;
(c) Significant contributions in the field of specializations and ability to guide
research;
(d) Participation in National / International Seminars / Conferences / Workshops
and / or recipient of National / International Awards / Fellowships; and
(e) Ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and
adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in that discipline.
Associate Professor :
(i) Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned / allied /
relevant disciplines.
(ii) A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point
scale wherever grading system is followed).
(iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an
academic / research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a
University, College or Accredited Research Institution / industry excluding
the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a
minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
(iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses,
and technology–mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having
guided doctoral candidates and research students.
(v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API)
based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) developed by UGC in
the Regulations, 2010.
Assistant Professor :
(i) Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least
55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading
system is followed) at the Master’s degree level in a relevant subject from
an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign
University.
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared
the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar
test accredited by the UGC like SLET / SET.
(iii) Candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance
with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and
Procedures for award of Ph.D Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be
exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of
NET/SLET/SET.
(iv) NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Master’s Degree Programmes
in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET accredited test is not conducted.
Assistant Professor: (Adult Education)
Essential:
(i) Good academic record with at least Second Class Master's degree in the
subject of Adult / Continuing / Community / Extension Education /
Community Development from a recognised Indian University or an
equivalent degree from a foreign University.
(ii) M.Phil. or Ph.D. in a subject related to Adult learning or in a subject under
Social Sciences or Education / Evidence of published learning materials and
learning resources on areas listed in (i) above or published research in any
of the relevant area / areas indicated above.
Or
(i) At least second class Master's Degree in Social Sciences / Social work /
Humanities / Education / Sciences / Home Sciences with at least second
class Bachelor's degree in a similar subject.
(ii) Post Master's Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education from a recognised
Indian University or an equivalent Diploma / Degree from a foreign
University.
(iii) M. Phil. or Ph. D. in subject related to Adult-learning or in a subject under
Social Sciences or Education / Evidence of published learning materials and
learning resources on areas listed in a (i) above or published research in
any of the relevant area / areas indicated above.
General Terms and conditions as regards qualifications for the post of
Professor, Associate Professor & Assistant Professor :
(i) A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master’s level for
the Scheduled Cast/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and
visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for
assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching
positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a
point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to
the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the
qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.
(ii) A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the
Ph.D. degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s degree prior to
19th September, 1991.
(iii) Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the
grading system is followed by recognized university shall also be considered
eligible.
(iv) The period of time taken by candidates to acquire M.Phil. and/or
Ph.D.Degree shall not be considered as teaching / research experience to
be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions.
NOTES: Important points to be borne in mind before filling in Application Form.
1. Candidates should apply online from 12.07.2010 to 10.08.2010 at the University
website unipune.ac.in link to Recruitment online & then take the printout of the said
application and attach attested copies of the necessary documents to the same.
Submit the printed copy of the application form along with all enclosures to Assistant
Registrar, Administration-Teaching, University of Pune, Pune – 411007, on or before
14.08.2010.
2. Separate application should be submitted for each post.
3. Qualification & Experience will be as notified by the State Government of
Maharashtra & UGC from time to time.
4. Teaching Experience as an approved teacher is required. Teachers should enclose
attested copies of the following documents with their applications :
(a) Degree / Diploma certificate, Statement of Marks and other certificates of the
educational qualifications.
(b) Approval letters.
(c) Appointment Orders in case of University Teachers.
(d) Certificate/s of teaching experience and / or postdoctoral research.
(e) It is compulsory to attach the Caste certificate issued by the Taluka Tahsildar /
Mamledar, if candidate belong to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Nomadic
Tribe and Vimukta Jati / OBC / SBC. It is compulsory to attach the non creamy layer
certificate with application form for the candidates who belong to the DT-A, NT-B,NTC,
NT-D, OBC & SBC categories as per Government of Maharashtra Circular No.
CBC 10/ 2006/ Pra.Kra.15/ MAVAK 5 dated 5th June 2006. (Non- Creamy layer
Certificate issued by competent authority after 01.04.2010 will only be considered)
(f) Caste Validity Certificate, if already obtained.
(g) Testimonials
(h) SSC certificate or other equivalent certificate in support of age.
(i) In case of change in name of the candidate a copy of Government Gazette or any
other appropriate certificate.
The original certificates would be required at the time of interview only.
5. As per the Notification No.SRV.2000/CR(17/2000)XII dated 28th March 2005 issued
by General Administration Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai, a candidate shall
submit the declaration of the small family in the prescribed proforma attached with
Application form as Declaration Form-“A”.
6. As per the Notification No. BCC-2009/Pra.Kra.291/09/16-B dated 5th November 2009
a candidate belonging to the reserved category and apply for the reserved post shall
submit their Caste Validity certificate at the time of joining.
7. Reserved posts for DT(A), NT-(B),NT-(C),NT(D) category are interchangable,
if candidates are not available from concerned category of DT(A), NT-(B),
NT-(C),NT(D), then as per government policy these posts will be filled
interchangeably from DT(A), NT-(B),NT-(C),NT(D) category.
8. Relevant experience will be counted as on the last date of receipt of applications i.e.
14.08.2010.
9. For reserved posts, the candidates belonging to the concerned reserved category
only should apply.
10. Application forms should be accompanied with a non-refundable Demand Draft of
Rs. 500/- (for Open Category) and Rs. 250/- (for reserved category candidates), of
nationalized bank drawn in favour of the “Registrar, University of Pune”, payable at
Pune.
11. Candidates already employed, should submit their applications through proper
channel.
12. The envelope containing application forms should be superscribed by “Application for
the post of ___________ in the Department of ________________”.
13. The University will not entertain any inquiry regarding eligibility criteria.
14. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories as recognized in the State of
Maharashtra shall only be considered under reserved categories. The candidate
belonging to the reserved categories from outside the state of Maharashtra will be
treated as Open.
15. Applications incomplete in any respect and those received after the last date of
receipt of application will not be considered.
16. The University reserves the right to fill in or not to fill in any or all posts advertised.
17. Reservation for Women and for Physically Handicapped will be as per the State
Government norms.
