    Requirement of Jr. Engineer on fixed term contract basis in Konkan Railway
    Corporation Limited for the works related to Jammu & Kashmir project.

    Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Public Sector Undertaking under
    the Ministry of Railways, having its Corporate Office at CBD Belapur,
    Navi Mumbai, is executing a part of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramullah Rail link project(USBRL project) in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. KRCL invites applications for
    USBRL project for the following fixed term contract posts on CTC basis, to be
    operated at J&K at fixed remuneration rate all inclusive, except as otherwise
    specifically indicated.

    Fixed consolidated pay as Rs.25, 500/- per month.

    B.E. in Civil Engineering with aggregate 55% marks from recognised (AICTE) University.
    · The yearly increment will be 5 % on CTC.
    · Medical reimbursement will be paid upto Rs.1,500/- per month according to
    medical bills as produced for OPD.
    · Reimbursement of Mediclaim Policy upto Rs.1,333/- per month as premium.
    · An insurance coverage will be given for working at J&K to the tune of Rs.25
    lacks for SELF ONLY, during the contract period.

    The period of contract will be initially for 2 years, extendable on yearly basis up
    to 5 years, on satisfactory performance and mutual consent. In such event,
    increment will be paid as 5% on CTC, on completion of 12 months
    service/contract period. Candidates will be eligible for Service Gratuity on
    completion of minimum period of 5 years service.

    considered in deserving cases.

    After preliminary screening of the applications submitted by the candidates, the
    eligible candidate(s) will only be called for personal Interviews.
    No train/bus fare/ TA/DA shall be payable for attending screening process, by
    the Corporation.

    Applications should be complete and strictly as per the prescribed format.
    Applications not conforming to the prescribed format or having
    illegible/ambiguous certificates or without certificates or incomplete will be
    summarily rejected.

    General Information (Applicable to all applicants):-

    1. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria will be interviewed.
    2. Candidates are advised to check their eligibility before applying for.
    3. The candidates, if made provisionally eligible, must bring with them
    original certificates, along with 1 set of attested photocopy in proof of age,
    caste, educational qualification and experience on the date of interview,
    failing which candidate will not be eligible for interview.
    4. Candidate, if called for interview, should bring 2 character certificates
    from different officers i.e. Gazetted Officers/Executives Officers for
    certifying that he is bearing good moral character.
    5. Incomplete or vague educational qualification will be treated as
    invalid.
    6. Even after contractual agreement, if any document/ certificate/
    information is found incorrect or false in any scrutiny or verification,
    then the contractual service will be immediately terminated forthwith
    without assigning any reason and prior notice, besides legal action which
    may also be initiated.
    7. The Corporation reserves the right to cancel/ restrict/ curtail/ enlarge
    the contract engagement process, if need so arises, without any prior
    notice and without assigning any reasons therefore.
    8. Selected candidates will be required to execute a bond of
    Rs.50,000
    /- in favour of “Konkan Railway Corporation Limited” on
    Rs.100/- stamp paper to serve the Company for the period specified in
    the subsequent para below or any further extended period.
    9. The selection will be held by scrutiny of the applications and
    interviews of provisionally eligible candidates. The details regarding
    schedule for the same will be made available on KRCL’s website
    mentioned above.
    10. The outstation candidates must come prepared to stay for minimum 3
    days if called for interviews, at their own expenses.
    11. Candidate will be subjected to prescribed medical examination before
    final selection. The medical examination will have to undergo, at their
    own cost.

    Selection process
    :-
    1. The candidates shall apply in time, proper address and should attach
    the mentioned documents as mentioned above with fully filled prescribed
    application form.
    2. The candidate will be interviewed by a nominated Committee and the
    selection will be finalised on merit based on the performance in the
    interview, qualification and experience gained by the Candidate.
    3. The decision of the Nominated Committee will be final and binding.
    The other broad terms of contract
    are given below for information of
    the candidate which are subject to changes at the time of actually
    entering into the contract, at the discretion of KRCL, which may please
    be noted:-
    4. Initially, the contract period will be for a period of 2 years, and
    extendable up to 5 years, on satisfactory performance and with mutual
    agreement.
    5. The contractual services are required for KRCL at their Jammu &
    Kashmir project site and their project offices at Reasi, J&K. These are
    not regular establishment posts and are only for the project
    requirements. The contractual appointment will be for a maximum
    period of 5 years or till the completion of the USBRL project in J&K
    assigned to KRCL, whichever is earlier.
    6. The Corporation reserves the right to terminate the contract if the
    contract appointee is found unsuitable, by giving 3 months notice or
    payment in lieu thereof. Similarly, the appointee will be required to give
    3 months notice to KRCL for termination of contract.
    7. The candidate selected for the above contractual agreement shall not
    be absorbed in KRCL regular service. The candidate therefore, shall not
    have right to claim for permanent absorption in KRCL, and shall be
    required to give an undertaking in writing to KRCL to that effect.
    8. The selected candidate shall be paid the consolidated remuneration as
    mentioned hereinabove and shall not be eligible or entitled to any other
    benefit or allowance, except the applicable service gratuity on completion
    of 5 years period of contract employment.
    9. In the event, the appointee is found involved in undesirable activities
    such as embezzlement, unlawful activities (including passing on
    confidential information of KRCL), unauthorised absence, insubordination
    or breach of any of the terms of contract without prejudice
    to the right to initiate civil/criminal proceedings, the contract
    appointment shall be terminated.
    The termination of contract and its consequences:-
    (a) In addition to the above conditions, the contract agreement shall be
    terminated on:-
    (i) Completion of last day of contract period or any extended period thereon.
    (ii) Completion of KRCL part of J&K project.
    (iii) Occurrence of any event of stoppage or cessation of work due to force
    majeure in KRCL part of J&K project or entire project.
    (iv) The breach of any terms of contract of employment by contract employee.
    (v) The last day of the 3 months notice period of termination issued by either
    side or payment in lieu thereof by either party.
    (b) If any litigation on whatsoever account is initiated by or against KRCL, the
    cause of which lies in contract period, the presence of contract appointee
    will be required, even after termination or expiry of the contract agreement.
    (c) Upon any premature termination or expiration of contract for any reason,
    the contract appointee shall return to KRCL any property belonging to
    KRCL, all tools and plans, documents, any passwords or user ids etc. under
    his control. This will include all confidential information regarding work,
    hard and soft copies of documents and information of whatever description
    of whatever form, tangible or intangible in his possession, together with
    copies, notes or summaries of such documents and his own working papers
    which are derived or based upon such documents.
    (d) They will have to clear all their advance(s) or due(s), if any cash or vouchers
    or if any financial outstanding liabilities etc.
    (e)Contract appointee will be responsible for the acts and omission(s) in the
    course of contractual service during the period and thereafter.

    Travel on duty and expenses
    :-
    a) Pass for Sleeper Class may be issued for train travel while travelling
    on official duty of KRCL.
    b) Expenses and cost :- The fixed rate of 100% expenses and costs as
    per classification of city will be Rs.340/- per day outside J&K for the
    post Jr. Engineer during the course of contract period and will be
    payable as detailed below:-
    For 12 hours and above:- 100%
    For 6 hours to 12 hours:- 70%
    Less than 6 hours :- 30%
    c) For movement within project area in J&K on duty, transport on
    collective basis will be arranged by KRCL. Local conveyance charges,
    if used, by bus will be re-imbursable.
    d) Rest House :- Rest House of KRCL, if available, will be provided while
    on duty, or re-imbursement of hotel charges as per rates fixed by
    KRCL will be allowed, on production of vouchers.
    e) Place of posting and accommodation :- The selected candidates for
    the post of Jr. Engineer will be posted at Reasi or at other project
    site(s), anywhere in Jammu & Kashmir, as decided by the Officer in
    charge, unless specified.
    f) For candidates selected for the post of Jr. Engineer, bachelor
    accommodation will be arranged along the alignment in project area,
    in J&K, except in Reasi. Similarly, cooking facilities at such places,
    along with cook will be generally made available at project area only.
    However, cost of consumables will be borne by the occupants on
    community living basis.

    Leave:
    -
    Contract appointee will be entitled for fully earned leave of 15 days on completion
    of every 6 months of contract period. This leave can be accumulated; however,
    no encashment is permitted. In addition, the appointee will be eligible for 8 days
    Casual Leave in a calendar year. Weekly off and other public holidays, as
    applicable to project offices, will be applicable. Normal working hours will be the
    same as per the project office. However, the appointee will be required to work in
    shift duty at sites.

    Insurance
    :-
    The selected candidate will be covered under KRCL’s Special Insurance Scheme
    for an amount of Rs.25 lacks, while on duty in Jammu & Kashmir state.
    The Contract Appointee shall be governed by Indian Laws and shall be subject to
    the judicial courts in Jammu & Kashmir/ Maharashtra state.
    Statutory Income Tax, Professional Tax and other taxes will be deducted at
    source, as applicable from time to time.

    Training
    :-
    Suitable introductory training, if required may be arranged at a location to be
    decided by KRCL.
    The above terms are broad in nature and only for guidance and are subject to
    change while entering into agreement at the time of contract appointment.
