Applications on prescribed format are invited for the following faculty positions.

1. Associate Professor (Pay Band 37400 – 67000/- with AGP 9,000/-)
i) Computer Science.
ii) Islamic studies.
iii) Arabic.

ELIGIBILITY :
Essential :
i) Ph.D. in the concerned subject from recognized Institution with First Class Masters Degree.

ii) Five years of experience of teaching and/ or research as Assistant Professor or equivalent excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degree and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contributions to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.
Desirable :
i) Leadership skills and ability to incorporate interdisciplinary approaches.
ii) Good communication skills both oral and written

2. Assistant Professor (Pay Band 15600-39100 with AGP of 6,000/-)
i) Microbiology.
ii) MBA.
iii) English*

ELIGIBILITY :
Essential :
Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent GPA in the concerned subject with
NET/SLET or Ph.D.
Desirable :
i) Leadership skills and ability to incorporate interdisciplinary approaches.
ii) Good communication skills both oral and written.

submit a copy of the said certificate/s within the stipulated time. )
3. Assistant Professor (Pay Band 15600-39100 with AGP of 6,000/-)

i) Mathematics /Applied Mathematics.
ELIGIBILITY :
Essential :
Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent GPA in the concerned subject with NET/SLET or Ph.D.
Desirable :
i) Leadership skills and ability to incorporate interdisciplinary approaches.
ii) Good communication skills both oral and written.
iii) Experience in teaching Actuarial or Financial Mathematics /Working experience in the banking or insurance
Industry.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OR INSTRUCTIONS
1. Screening of the application forms shall be done in accordance with the UGC Regulations on minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers and other academic staff in universities and colleges and measures for the Maintenance of standards in higher education 2009.
2. Allowances payable as per university rules.
3. The candidates in employment should forward their application through their employer.
4. Application forms can be downloaded from University website islamicunviersity.edu.in or can be obtained from the office of the Registrar, Islamic University of Science & Technology, Awantipora,
5. Application forms complete in all respects duly supported by attested copies of certificates and testimonials and accompanied by Demand Draft of Rs. 800/- drawn in favour of Islamic University of Science & Technology and payable at Awantipora Kashmir should reach office of the Registrar by or before 6th August, 2010 up to 4pm. Applications received after the expiry of the said date will not be entertained.
6. The application forms will be issued during office hours between 9.00 am to 5.00 pm (except gazetted holidays, and Weekends)
7. Eligible candidates will be informed about the date and place of interview through intimation under certificate of posting. However, university does not take any responsibility for non receipt or delayed receipt of the intimation by a candidate.
