Advertisement for the Post of Professors (On short-term contract)

NIFTEM, an institute of Global Excellence in Food Technology and Sciences is being set up at
“Kundli” , Sonepat, Haryana; fully supported by MOFPI and enjoys reasonable autonomy. The first
academic session leading to B.Tech in Food Processing would be commencing in September 2010.
Applications are invited for the Post of Professor -2 Nos . on short term contract basis (May
also be considered for long term/Permanent basis later on). The individuals having aged below 55
yrs, holding Doctorate Degree with very good academic record throughout besides having published
Research work of high standard in one of the fields :-
(i) Food Chemistry
(ii) Food Biology
(iii) Nutrition
(iv) Bio Process Engineering
(v) Management Science of Enterprise Development
(vi) Food Enterprise Incubators may apply.

Candidates with prior experience in academic institutions/Universities holding post of Professor/
Associate Professor, or equivalent position in R&D organizations will be preferred.

Emoluments and Perks
· The candidates joining on sabbatical leave will be entitled to their pay protection with a rise
of 10% in the basic Pay, besides other allowances as per Government rules.
· Emoluments of candidates joining directly would be fixed appropriately at par with those on
the identical posts and joining on sabbatical or above indicated amount whichever is higher.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Name of the Post : Professor
2. Qualification : Doctoral Degree or equivalent in Food Science/Technology/Food Biology or
related discipline with concentration in Food Technology and Food
Processing Engineering.
3. Age : Below 55 Years
4. Experience : 12 Years of experience in research, teaching research in a large academic
institution of repute or research department of private research system or
state/ central organization.
The candidate should be actively engaged in research with evidence of
published work-books and/ or research/ policy papers
The candidate should have very good academic record throughout besides
having published Research work of high standard in one of the fields :- (i)
Food Chemistry (ii) Food Biology (iii) Nutrition (iv) Bio Process Engineering (v)
Management Science of Enterprise Development (vi) Food Enterprise
Incubators.
The candidate is expected to have excellent written and verbal
communication skills and to interact effectively with students, other faculty
and other stakeholders personally.
5. Job Description : The candidates will be providing intellectual and philosophical leadership to
faculty, staff and students for synergistic academic, research, extension and
service programs.
The job demands involvements in key research areas finalization, research
hypothesis generation, and collaborative research projects, and mentoring
and monitoring Ph.D students in their research work.
Providing leadership for continued acquisition of internal and external
resources to enhance departmental programs.
Coordinating administrative support for the Interdisciplinary faculty of Food
Science.
