NOTICE FOR JUNIOR ENGINEERS( CIVIL & ELECTRICAL ) EXAM., 2010

STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION:
JUNIOR ENGINEERS(CIVIL & ELECTRICAL) EXAM 2010

Minimum Educational Qualification:
Diploma in Civil or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an institution recognized by Govt. of India or equivalent qualification

Age Limit :
18-27 years as on 27.01.2010

Examination Fees:
Rs.100/-only. Women and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH/Ex-Servicemen are emempted from paying examination fee.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION:
The examination will be conducted in two stages:
A. Written Test (500 marks)
B. Interview (100 marks)

Paper-I and Paper-II would consist of Part A(Civil & Structural) and Part B (Electrical & Mechanical) and the candidate will be required to attempt EITHER PART-A OR PART-B of Paper-I and Paper-II, as per option given in the Application Form by the candidate.(In other words, the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer(Civil) should attempt Part A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer(Electrical) should attempt Part B (Electrical & Mechanical) of Paper-I and Paper-II failing which he/she would be awarded ZERO marks.

SYLLABUS
The standard of the questions in Engineering subjects will be approximately of the level of Diploma in Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) from a recognized Institute, Board or University and recognized by All India Board of Technical Education. All the questions will be set in SI units.

(i) Application in the format prescribed as in Annexure-I of this Notice, neatly typed on A-4 size paper or published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar along with the Notice, duly filled in candidate’s own hand writing must be sent by post/submitted as per provision of para-8 of Notice to the concerned Regional/Sub-Regional Office only as shown in column 3 against the centre selected by the candidate, as given in table under para-8 of the Notice.
Candidates may also download the Application Form from SSC’s Website http://ssc.nic.in. They must affix their signatures in running script (and not in Capital or Block letters) at the appropriate places / Declaration, failing which the application will be summarily rejected by the Commission without any correspondence with the candidate.

(ii) Candidates are required to submit along with their applications attested certificate(s) in support of their claims regarding age, educational qualifications, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes and Ex-serviceman etc. The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination for which they are admitted by the Commission (written examination and interview) will be purely PROVISIONAL, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before or after the written examination and Interview, it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination will be canceled by the Commission.

NOTE-I: The envelope containing the application must be superscribed in bold letters as
“APPLICATION FOR JUNIOR ENGINEERS( CIVIL & ELECTRICAL ) EXAM., 2010” and the name of the Centre from where the candidate intends to appear should be written in capital letters at left side corner of the Envelope.
NOTE-II: For “General Instructions to Candidates for Objective Type Paper involving OMR Answer Sheets”, please refer to Commission’s website http://ssc.nic.in.

MODE OF SELECTION:
Candidates fulfilling the prescribed qualifications will be required to undergo a Written Examination. The Commission holds full discretion to fix minimum qualifying marks for the examination as a whole or component-wise in Paper-I and Paper-II for different categories, i.e., UR, SC, ST, OBC, etc. Candidates, declared qualified on the basis of the Written Examination, would be required to appear for the Interview. Final Select List would be prepared on All-India basis in order of merit cum preference as disclosed by the aggregate marks (marks of Written Examination& Interview) finally awarded to each candidate as given under this scheme of recruitment and in that order so many candidates as are found by the Commission to be qualified at the Examination shall be recommended for appointment upto the number of unreserved vacancies.

Prepare for junior engineer. For mech study mech subjects mainly production and thermal. And also study electrical subjects. In exam 50% marks from mech and 50% from electrical.
