RECRUITMENT OF OUTSTANDING SPORTSMEN
Applications are invited from outstanding sportsmen (Football & Cricket) for appointment in the clerical cadre in the branches/offices of the State Bank of Travancore in the State of Kerala.
1. ELIGIBILITY
a) Age: Not below 18 years and not above 28 years as on 01st June 2010
Relaxation in upper age limit: The upper age limit will be relaxed
in respect of SC/ST candidates by 5 years and 3 years for OBC
category as per the Government guidelines in this regard.
b) Minimum Educational Qualifications: 10th Standard/SSLC or Equivalent
c) Sports Qualifications: Should have represented the State in National event or the District in “State level event with distinction, or his University in an University event with distinction, or be a member of the Combined University Team
2. HOW TO APPLY
Candidates who satisfy the above eligibility norms (a to c) and wish to apply for recruitment under sports quota in the Bank should submit the prescribed application form along with copies of testimonials providing date of birth, educational qualifications, sports achievements etc. Candidates should affix their recent passport size photograph on the application and should sign across it. A non refundable demand draft for Rs.200/- (Rupees Two hundred only) favouring “State Bank of Travancore”. Payable at Trivandrum should be sent along with the application. Application without the prescribed fee will be rejected. No application fee for SC/ST category applicants.
3. MODE OF SELECTION
Applications received will be subjected to a preliminary scrutiny to shortlist a few candidates to be called for trials and if selected, for interview. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their age, performance, attainments as given in the application/testimonial and also as per the requirement of the teams. The candidates shortlisted will be called for trials and if selected, for interview and selection will be made on the basis of merit. Since the recruitment is for sportsmen category, maximum weightage will be given to the above factors as well as to the age of the candidates.
4. PROBATION: Minimum period of 6 months
5. SALARY AND EMOLUMENTS
All appointments under this scheme shall be entirely at the discretion of the Bank and shall be made at the starting stage of the pay scale admissible to the post. Scale of pay : Rs.7.200/- - Rs.19,300/- + other allowances. Graduates are eligible for two additional increments.
6. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Only male Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the post
2. At the time of application the candidate must be an active player and should be fit enough to take part in future tournaments as well.
3. Candidates will have to appear for the interview at their own cost. However, unemployed SC/ST candidates who are called for interview will be reimbursed 2nd class passenger train/bus fare as per rules. For this, such candidates belonging to SC/ST category should send along with their application/bring with them at the time of interview attested copies of certificates to prove their caste/tribe.
4. Candidates already employed in Government/Public Sector Banks/Undertakings should route their application through their employers. They will also be required to produce a No Objection Certificate from their employers at the time of interview.
5. Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria and the particulars furnished by them are correct in all respects. In case it is detected at any stage that the candidates does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, or has furnished any incorrect information, his candidates will be rejected/cancelled. If appointed, his services will be summarily terminated.
6. Only candidates who are willing to serve anywhere in India including Rural and Semi Urban areas need apply.
7. The last date for receipt of completed application is 31st July 2010
8. Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria should only apply.
9. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
