Indian Railways have always held high records of National and International sports, and Central Railway is part of it.

Closing Date and time of receipt of applications : 14/09/2010 At 18.00 hrs.
Closing Date and time of receipt of applications for residents of Andaman & Nicobar & Lakshadweep : 21/09/2010 At 18.00 hrs.

Applications received after closing date shall not be entertained .

1. Applications are invited from the citizens of India for recruitment against Sports quota on Central Railway for the year 2010-11 for 12 posts in Group ‘C’ in the pay band of Rs.5200-20200 + Rs.1900/2000 Grade Pay. The eligible candidates can apply in the prescribed format enclosed.

2. Educational Qualification/Eligibility Conditions/Achievements for Recruitment.

2.1 Educational Qualification:
SSC/HSC Passed, or those with higher qualification .

2.2 Eligibility Conditions/Achievements
A candidate must have;

i) Represented the country as a member of Junior/Senior team in the prestigious International meets. Such as Olympic Games/World Cup/World Championship/Asian Games/Commonwealth Games.
OR
ii) Represented the country in the Commonwealth & Asian Championships and obtained at least Third Position.
OR
iii) Represented the State or equivalent unit in the Senior/Junior National or obtained at least 3rd position.
OR
iv) Represented a University in All India University Championship (Organized under the aegis of Association of Indian University and should have obtained at least 3rd position in Individual events or at least 2nd position in the team games.
OR
v) Represented the State or equivalent unit in Federation cup (Senior Category) and obtained first position.

vi) For Basketball Under 18 shall be treated as Junior National Championship. For Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, & Football Under 19 will be consider as Jr. National Championship and in Wrestling Under 20 shall be treated as Junior National Championship.

2.3 Sports criteria will be adjudged on the basis of the participation in championships on or after 01/04/2008 and candidates active will only be eligible to apply.

3. Age Limit.
3.1 Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01.01.2011.

4. Selection Procedure
4.1 Selection will be conducted through Trial and Interview.

4.2 Candidates must bring original date of birth, educational qualification and sports related certificates on the day of trial and interview, without which they will not be accepted for selection.

4.3 No TA/DA /accommodation will be provided during trial/interview. Bring your own sports kit. A candidate may have to stay for 2-3 days during selection for which he has to make his own arrangements. The Railway Administration has the right to determine a valid date, postpone trial/interview, change the place or cancel the trial due to unforeseen reasons and this cannot be challenged by any one.

4.4 The successful candidates will be posted in Group ‘C’ at the discretion of the Competent Authority and subject to availability of vacancies.

5. Application Procedure.

5.1Application shall be submitted on A-4 size, quality white paper and should be in conformity with the format given in this Notice. Candidates are advised to ensure that the application is legible, written in (English/Hindi/Marathi) on only one side of the paper, dated and signed. Use only international numerals (1,2,3 etc). The candidate should affix his normal (English/Devnagri) signature in the application form.

(Applicant’s signature in short form/capital letters/spaced out letters will be treated as invalid.)

5.2 Sports persons, who fulfill the above eligibility conditions, may send their applications enclosing copies of their Educational qualification, Proof of age, sports achievement certificates and any other laurels won by them. One attested photograph to be pasted on Application form and prescribed processing fee.

5.3 An individual should apply for only one game and the name of the game should be written on the envelope as indicated above, and also on the top of the application in bold letters. In case an individual sends applications for more than one Game, the applications are liable to be rejected and not opened if GAME is not written on envelope.

5.4 Merely fulfilling the qualifying norms as mentioned in Para 2.2. above will not entitle the sportsperson for selection. The candidate would be selected for employment only if they fit in the Central Railway team.

6. PROCESSING FEES (NON REFUNDABLE)

6.1Processing fees to be sent with application in the form of crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of ‘Central Railway Sports Association’

a) For GL/OBC candidates :Rs.40/-

b) For SC/ST, (*)Minorities & (**)Economically
backward classes candidates :Rs. NIL

Note:
(*) Minorities shall mean Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Zorastrians (Parsis).
(**)Economically backward classes will mean the candidates whose family income is less than Rs.50,000/- per annum. The following authorities are authorized to issue income certificate for the purpose identifying economically back classes:

i) District Magistrate or any other Revenue Officer upto the level of Tehsildar. ii) Sitting Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha for persons of their own constituency. iii) BPL Card or any other certificate issued by Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation programme or Izzat MST issued by Railways. iv) Union Minister may also recommend to Chairman/RRBs for any persons from anywhere in the country. v) Sitting Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha for persons of the district in which these MPs normally reside. The income certificate issued by the above authorities shall be in the prescribed Format (A). This certificate shall be issued on the letter head of the issuing authority

7. Enclosures
The following enclosures should firmly be attached alongwith the application:-

7.1 Crossed IPO for the amount of Rs. 40/- should be firmly tied/annexed on the top of the application form mentioning their numbers, date of issue etc. in the appropriate column in the application form.

7.2 Attested Xerox copy of Matriculation or equivalent certificate in proof of age.

7.3.Attested Xerox copies of Academic Qualification Certificates and Mark-lists

7.4 Attested Xerox copy of caste certificate from competent authority not below the rank of Tehsildar in case of SC/ST. The certificates necessarily contain religion, caste and bear the seal of the issuing authority .

7.5 Attested Xerox copy of Sports certificates as per the eligibility criteria.

8. GROUNDS FOR REJECTION

8.1 The applications having deficiency, defects and irregularities shall be treated as invalid and rejected summarily without any intimation to the candidates.

8.2 Application not in the prescribed format as mentioned in the notification (candidates purchasing Application Form in the market should ensure that it meets the requirement of size and format)

8.3 Applications which are incomplete and /or illegible.

8.4 Applications from under-aged/over–aged (if not covered under provisions of relaxations) candidates.

8.5 Applications filled in a language other than Hindi/English/Marathi Language.

8.6 Applications which are unsigned /undated or applications signed in block letters/capital letters.

8.7 Applications received after the closing date and time.

8.8 Applications submitted without enclosing relevant certificates

8.9 Application sent without affixing requisite number of proper photographs or without signature below the pasted photographs.

8.10 Application of candidates not possessing the prescribed educational and Sports qualification at the time of submitting application.

8.11 Applications without requisite amount of Examination Fee through proper crossed IPO.

8.12 Enclosures in languages other than Hindi/English/Marathi.

8.13 Applications with Xerox copies of certificates without attestation by Gazetted Officer or with photo copies which are illegible or incomplete.

8.14 Application made on News paper cutting.

8.15 Application which is considered invalid in the opinion of Railway Administration due to non compliance of any of the instructions and/or condition mentioned in this notification or found discrepant and or deficient in any respect.

9. WHOM TO ADDRESS:-

9.1 The application completed in all respect alongwith all the enclosures duly attached should be sent in a cover addressed to the Asstt. Personnel Officer (RT), Railway Recruitment Cell, 1st floor, Chief Project Manager (Conversion)’s Office Bldg.,P.D’Mello Road, Wadi Bunder, Central Railway, Mumbai – 400010 Application should be sent by ordinary post or dropped in box kept in the above office for this purpose. Application sent by registered post/courier or speed post will not be acknowledged. The cover containing the application should clearly be super scribed as follows:

a) ‘RECRUITMENT AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA 2010-11’
b) Game applied for _______________(Name of the sports discipline).

10. CHANGE OF ADDRESS

10.1 If there is any change in the address, the candidate in his/her own interest should arrange with the post Office concerned for redirection of the communication from old to new address.

10.2 THE DECISION OF THE RAILWAY ADMINISTRATION IN ALL MATTERS RELATING TO ELIGIBILITY, ACCEPTANCE OR REJECTION OF THE APPLICATION, ISSUE OF FREE PASSES, PENALTY FOR FALSE INFORMATION, MODE OF SELECTION, CONDUCT OF EXAMINATION/ ALLOTMENT OF POSTS TO SELECTED CANDIDATES, ETC. WILL BE FINAL AND BINDING ON THE CANDIDATES AND NO ENQUIRY OR CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERTAINED BY THE RAILWAY ADMINISTRATION IN THIS CONNECTION.

10.3 THE SELECTION OF THE CANDIDATE BY THE RAILWAY ADMINISTRATION DOES NOT CONFER ANY RIGHT ON THE CANDIDATE FOR THE POST.


10.4 THE RAILWAY ADMINISTRATION IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY POSTAL DELAY OR WRONG DELIVERY.

10.5 THE RAILWAY ADMINISTRATION DESERVES THE RIGHT TO RECTIFY INADVERTENT ERROR, OMISSION, IF ANY.

11. LEGAL MATTERS
11.1 Any legal matter arising out of this employment notice shall fall within the legal jurisdiction of Central Administrative Tribunal, Mumbai only.

12. IMPORTANT ADVISORY

12.1 It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that he meets the eligibility condition fully and comply with conditions and instructions specified in this notification. In the event of failure to do so, Railway Administration reserve the right to cancel the candidature at any stage of recruitment process and even after the selection/appointment of the candidate.
