FAQ - IndianJobTalks
Welcome to this forum.
This in intended to be a FAQ for the job seekers / recruiters.
1) Who are You?
I am an individual running this site.
2) Is this your profession?
No. This site is my hobby.
I am a technical professional with full-time work.
3) I am a job seeker. Will you help me get a job?
No. Sorry. We post jobs here.
You have to search for your right job and apply to the advertiser directly.
We neither connected with any recruiters nor we are one.
4) Can I send my resume to you?
No. As I said, I am not a job-agent.
5) Do they advertise the job with you directly?
No. We post jobs available free on the internet.
6) Can I assist you by posting jobs/articles?
Why not? You are welcome.
7) Will you pay me for doing so?
At the moment no.
I need some time (may be a year or so) to establish this site.
After that, I am planning to outsource the job posting to freelancers.
8) The website link you have given in the post does not work.
Most of the posts are copy and paste work.
So I assume that the link worked while posted though typographical errors cannot be ruled out.
Use common sense to find / guess the right link.
For example, try http://www.thepostedjobsiteaddress.com instead of http://thepostedjobsiteaddress.com
That is, insert a www infront of the website address.
Also note if the format of the url is correct : typo error in the domain name, space in the link. Sometimes the http becomes https and it will not work.
9) The e-mail address posted in the job-post bounced.
The reason might be
a) Typographical error
b) The e-mail is no longer used
c) The contact person is no longer with the company
Try to get the correct / latest e-mail id by navigating in the website of the company.
Also, sometimes it is a recruiting agency doing the advertisement on behalf of the company.
In this case, some times they use a free mail id like yahoo / gmail. There is every possibility of dumping the mail id after the recruitment is over. Always go to the website to confirm if the mail id is valid still.
10) My anti-virus says that the website of the company posted in the thread contains a malware / trojan:
Inform me. I will remove the link.
11) I posted my CV and the employer did not contact me:
The jobs are not posted by companies directly. Most of the jobs are copy and paste from other job sites. Hence, don't send your CV to me. Also, if you post your CV, don't expect the employer to contact you. You have to call / mail the employer to the phone number / mail id in the post.
12) Do you guarantee the authenticity of the company or the advertisement?
Obviously a big NO. I don't give any guarantee of any sort. I don't do any research on the company. You do.
13 ) I want to post details about a scam company
You are welcome to do so. But remember not to post names of individuals in the company. And do not indulge in mudslinging on officials of the company. Don't use unparliamentary words. Talk in general without naming anybody. Don't post your rants in the job-posting section. Use the "Scam company list" forum to start a thread. If you have any evidence produce them. We don't take any responsibility for what you post here. The responsibility belies with you.
14) There is a post offensive to my company. I need it to be removed.
Mail me to indianjobtalks.mail @ gmail.com from your official mail id and give me reasons. I will see if the post requires removal or editing.
15) I need the ip address of one of the persons who posted a particular message
Our privacy policy http://www.indianjobtalks.com/privacy.html is against this. We don't part with any information of our visitors.
16) What is the first thing you do when you see a CV mailed to you?
I look for the delete button.
17) How do I post my resume here?
Goto the thread where you want to post the resume.
Hit the "Post reply" button.
Paste your resume and submit.
The post will appear after approval from moderator.
18) (New) What use is it to post my cv in the forum?
This forum is getting few thousand unique visitors a day and growing every single day. It cant be ruled out that some of them are recruiters looking for candidates. Now, don't you think that visibility of your CV will be helpful?
This gives a compelling reason for the recruiter to visit back the forum regularly. So whether it helps you or not, it definitely helps the forum.
19) Why is the site not updated?
I dont have the time. Period.
This site is my passtime, not my profession.
Remember that I don't have any obligation of whatsoever form to help you, but I sincerely try to help and try to provide details within my limits. So please be nice to me. :D
Feel free to ask me anything and I will add it to the FAQ as required.

First of all, you dont have to submit cv to us.
We are not recruitment company.
However, if you want to still post your resume here:
Locate the thread where job of your choice has been posted.
Post a reply to the thread, pasting your cv.
However, note that posting here does not mean that you have applied for the job.
You need to e-mail your resume to the mail id given in the thread.
This might help to know what are the advantages of posting cv in the forum:
