[b]Description [/b]: [b]Introduction [/b]: This Project is based on the process of implementation of GSM Technology and Micro Controllers into three phase motor for automatic operation during the availability period of three phase power just by sending an SMS or by giving a call to the particular modem. By this system the process of irrigating the land becomes easy and it also saves time, water and power. [b]Problem Faced [/b]: Farm lands are situated miles away from home. Extensive travel required, sometimes several times in a day we need to start and stop the water pumps. Lot of time, energy is consumed in this process. To overcome this problem we make use of automated irrigation system. Basically this project makes use of GSM technology and microcontrollers. Using these two concepts an automated irrigation system is built to water the farms. This enables us control the flow of water just with a single SMS or a ring. We can operate it from any corner of the world. [b]Operation [/b]: Once the three phase power comes module will send an SMS to the authenticated user. If farmer wants to switch on the motor he just needs to give a ring to the particular modem number which is implemented near the motor. Microcontroller checks whether the call is coming from the authenticated person, if it matches it will start the motor. In every stage it will send status to the authenticated person, i.e., whether the motor is on or off by the ring. The complete operation can be handled by sending SMS also that is by sending ON motor gets on, and by sending OFF motor gets off. We have one more feature called auto switch. If this switch is in “ON STATE” the motor gets ON instantly the three phase power comes, i.e., there is no need of calling or sending SMS. Once the motor is ON, the module sends SMS like “motor is on by auto switch”. If he wants to switch off he just needs to call back to the particular GSM number which we have in the module.
