Advertisement for selection of “Four Field Assistants” through Walk-in-Interview under the Purpose Driven Study (PDS) of the National Hydrology Project (NHP) entitled “Web GIS based spring inventory for vulnerability assessment and hydro-geological investigation of selected springs for sustaining local water demand in Ravi Catchment of Himachal Pradesh”

[B][U]Post Duration[/U][/B]: Two years or till termination or completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

[B][U]Essential[/U][/B]: Graduate in any discipline
[B][U]Desirable[/U][/B]: Knowledge of handling scientific instruments like GPS, pH and EC meter etc. and experience of conducting survey.

[B][U]General conditions[/U][/B]:
1. Individuals with requisite qualifications and experience as prescribed would be eligible for being engaged as Field Assistant (FA).
2. Maximum Age 35 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit can be relaxed (minor) in case of candidates having exceptional qualifications and experience by the selection committee. Age relaxation of SC/ST/OBC as per Govt. of India rules.
3. The post is purely temporary on co-terminus basis and do not entitle the appointee to any claim implicit or explicit for any NIH post. The appointment can be cancelled at any time by the Institute without assigning any reason.
4. The initial term of appointment and subsequent extension (s) if any, shall be decided on case to case basis depending upon the specific job and the time frame for its completion.
5. Field Assistant shall not be entitled to any allowance such as Dearness Allowance, Residential Telephone, Transport facility, Personal Staff, etc.
6. No TA/DA shall be admissible for joining the appointment on contractual basis. However, TA/DA shall be allowed for their travel inside the country in connection with the official work. 
7. The selection of candidates will be made through Walk-in-Interview. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate for attending the interview.

8. Candidates can directly attend the walk-in-interview on the prescribed date, time, and place at Western Himalayan Regional Centre, Irrigation & Flood Control Complex, Opposite Military Hospital, Satwari, Jammu Cantt. -180 003 (J&K) along with complete bio-data, passport size photograph and original proof of qualification and experience.

They must also bring with them self-attested copies of their certificates. Candidate may report at WHRC, Jammu 0:30 hours before Interview time. After starting of Interview, admission in the same will not be allowed.

9. The candidates selected for the post have to stay within the Ravi catchment, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh (study area) for observation and collection of data.
