This is for information that the admit card of Personal Assistant Examination - 2017 is available on the official website of this Court. The candidates who have been found eligible for appearing at the computer based test for appointment to the post of Personal Assistant in this Court in terms of Advt. No. PA/01/2017 may download their admit card from the official website of this Court patnahighcourt.gov.in.

The eligible candidates are also being intimated through SMS/ Email on their registered mobile number/ Email ID. A list containing names & other details of eligible candidates is also uploaded on the website of this Court.

[b][u]Mode of Appointment [/u][/b]:
By direct recruitment on the basis of 
(i) English shorthand-typing test with minimum speed of 80 W.P.M. for 240 words only i.e. at the rate of 80 W.P.M. for 3 minutes and 20 minutes for its transcription along with 5 minutes for revision of shorthand immediately after dictation, followed by intensive in-house training for three months thereafter. 
(ii) Typing (English) speed of 40 words per minute. 
(iii) English language and grammar test.
(iv) Knowledge of Computer applications.
(v) Oral Interview.

[b][u]The minimum qualifying standard will be [/u][/b]:
(i) Accuracy of 90% in English Shorthand typing test; 
(ii) 95% in English typing test; 
(iii) 60% marks in English Language and grammar test;
(iv) 60% marks in computer application test, 
(v) 30% marks in oral interview.

Provided that, except in regard to interview, if any candidate secures 10% less than the minimum qualifying marks in any of the above, he may be selected and appointed on probation for one year with the stipulation that within that period he will have to clear the minimum qualifying standard in two biannual tests to be held in respect of the subject of deficiency; the probation may be extended, at the discretion of the Chief Justice for up to two further six months period with the similar stipulation of clearing the minimum  qualifying standard in the test to be held.

[b][u]About us [/u][/b]:
The Patna High Court started its work in 1916 with the Chief Justice and six puisne Judges. In the year 1947, the sanctioned strength of the Court was nine permanent and three additional Judges.

Though a separate province for Orissa was created in the year 1937, this High Court exercised jurisdiction over the territories of that province till 26th July, 1948, when a separate High Court was constituted for Orissa. Even after the constitution of the Orissa High Court, the sanctioned strength of Judges for this Court remained the same.[/QUOTE]
