(ii) This scheme shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette and shall remain in force up to 31st March 2021. Introduction The Government of Goa has designed this scheme, to grant financial assistance to eminent artists who are in indigent circumstances as token of respect to them in their contribution in the field of Art & Culture. [B][U]Objectives [/U][/B]: The objectives of the scheme are as follows : (i) To give financial support to the artists in indigent circumstances. (ii) To grant monthly financial assistance to the artists who are in indigent conditions to meet their daily needs. (iii) To recognize the contribution of artists in the field of Art & Culture. [B][U]Eligibility [/U][/B]: (i) Any artist who is in indigent condition is eligible for assistance under this scheme. (ii) Artist should attain the age of 60 years at the time of applying for the scheme. (iii) Artist must have given contribution in the field of Art & Culture or should have worked in the field of Art & Culture to become eligible under this scheme. (iv)The income of the applicant artist should not exceed ₹ 48,000/- per annum. (However this clause shall not be applicable, where the applicant is recipient of' ‘State Cultural Award'). (v) Number of cases to be sanctioned shall depend upon the availability of funds for every financial year. [B][U]Nature and Quantum of Assistance [/U][/B]: (i) An eligible artist shall be granted financial assistance to the extent of ₹ 2,500/- per month every year. (ii) However, recipient of State Cultural Award shall be entitled for Financial Assistance to the extent of ₹ 3,200/- per month every year. [B][U]Procedure for application [/U][/B]: 1. Director of Art & Culture shall release an advertisement on local daily newspapers thereby inviting applications from eligible applicants for availing benefit under this scheme. 2. The interested artist could apply to the Director of Art & Culture in prescribed proforma alongwith latest passport size photograph and following documents : (a) Attested photocopy of Birth certificate or school leaving certificate as proof of age. In absence of both these documents, copy of Aadhar card or baptism certificate certifying his birth date. In case, the stated date of birth is false or incorrectly presented then the onus will lie on the applicant and action deemed fit will be taken against the applicant. (b) Income certificate from competent authority. (c) A resume of the applicant artist giving details of work done by the artist in the field of Art & Culture. (d) References of two known persons or institutions working in respective field of Art & Culture[/QUOTE]
