Applications are invited online from eligible candidates for admission with fellowship to Ph.D. and M.Tech.(Research) programmes of the Centre of Excellence on “Orthopaedic Tissue Engineering and Rehabilitation” under TEQIP-II.

[B][U]Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. Programme  [/U][/B]: 
The minimum qualification required for admission to Ph. D. and M. Tech (Research) programmes is one of the following
[B][U]For Ph. D. Pprogramme[/U][/B]: 
1 M.Tech/ M. E. / M. Pharm (after B.Tech / B.E. / B. Pharm) in Biomedical/ Biotechnology/Chemical/Computer Science/ Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical /Ceramics/ Metallurgy/ Material Science/ Biochemical engineering with 60% marks or 6.5 / 10 CGPA at both B. E. / B. Tech / B. Pharm and M. E. / M. Tech / M. Pharm levels.
2 B.Tech/B.E.in Biomedical / Biotechnology / Mechanical / Chemical / Biochemical / Metallurgy / Ceramics / Polymer / Computer Science / Electronics / Material Science / Engineering with a valid GATE score and CGPA 7.0 / 10 or marks 65 percent.
3 M.B.B.S./ B.V.Sc. with marks above 60 percent or CGPA 6.5 / 10.
Candidates with Research experience in Biomaterial, Biomechanics, Stem Cell, Tissue Engineering, Cryopreservation, Cell & Molecular Biology, and Genetic Engineering will be given preference.

[B][U]For M. Tech ( By Research) Programme[/U][/B]:  
 B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent in Biomedical/Biotechnology/ Chemical/Computer Science / Electronics / Electrical / Mechanical /Ceramics/ Metallurgy/ Material Science/ Biochemical engineering with CGPA of 6.5 or 60 percent of marks in aggregate with or without GATE score.
The above are the minimum criteria to be eligible for applying to Ph. D. and M. Tech. (Research) programmes. A higher short listing criteria may be set by the Institute during the time of scrutiny of applications depending on the number and quality of applications received. Also preference will be accorded to disciplines closer to Biomedical Engineering over others disciplines.

[B][U]Fee [/U][/B]: 
Fees to be paid at the time of admission to PhD / M.Tech (Research) Programmes

[B][U]How to Apply [/U][/B]: 
i) Interested candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria may submit online application at eapplication.nitrkl.ac.in following the instructions. Applicants are advised to (a) use Internet Explorer browser version 6.0 or above, (b) read the advertisement carefully, (c) read the instructions to fill up the online application form (d) fill up and submit the online application form accordingly and (e) pay application fee of Rs.500/- online from online application portal.

ii) Applicants are not required to send hard copy of the application form or any other document to NIT Rourkela. However, candidates who will be called for interview will be required to submit signed copy of the application form, a set of Xerox copies of all certificates at the time of interview. They also need to produce original certificates from HSC onwards for verification. The same will be forwarded to the Academic Office by the department for record.
1. Admission fee (One time fee) - Rs.1500/-
2. Tuition fee - Rs.7500/- [ Nil for SC/ST students]
3. Other fees (Exam., Library, Electricity etc. - Rs.3000/-
3. Student Activity fee - Rs.2000
5. Hostel Seat rent - Rs.2500/-
6. Medical fee - Rs.1000/-
7. Caution Money (Refundable on successful completion of the programme) (One time) - Rs.5000/-
TOTAL ( to be paid through demand draft in favour of Director, NIT, Rourkela payable at any bank in Rourkela) - Rs.22,500/-( Rs.15000/- in case of SC/ST students)
Mess Advance (Draft to be made in favour of “Chief Warden of Halls, NIT Rourkela” payable at any bank in Rourkela) - Rs.22,000/-
The above fee is only for the 1st semester. For remaining semesters the approximate fee will be Rs.38,000/- per semester (Rs.30500 /- for SC/ST students) which is inclusive of Mess dues. However, the Institute reserves the right to amend the fee structure from time to time, which will be implemented with immediate effect for all students irrespective of the date of admission.
