[B][U]R.N. Sahay National Legal Essay Competition 2014 [/U][/B]:
[B][U]Rules for submission [/U][/B]:
    The language of the Essay shall be strictly English
    The word limit for the essay is 3500 - 6000 words (including footnotes).
    Co-authorship/Joint authorship is not allowed.
    [B][U]All the participants must adhere to the following specification[/U][/B]:
        [B][U]Paper Size[/U][/B]: A4
        [B][U]Font[/U][/B]: Times New Roman
        [B][U]Font Size[/U][/B]: 12
        [B][U]Line Spacing[/U][/B]: 1.5
        [B][U]Footnotes[/U][/B]: Font Size 10, Line Spacing 1
    Each participant shall be permitted to submit only one individual entry. Multiple entries by an individual shall lead to disqualification.
    [B][U]The First Page should be a Separate Page in the beginning of the essay and it must contain the following details[/U][/B]:
        Name of the Participant
        Name of the Institution
        Year of Study and Batch
        Contact Information (e-mail ID and Phone no's. of participant)
    [B][U]The Second Page (Cover Page) of the submission should contain the following details only[/U][/B]:
        Unique Submission Number (as provided by the Organizers)
        Title of the Essay
        Abstract of the Essay (200-250 words)
    The Cover Page and/or Main Body of the essay should not carry contain any form of identification of the Participant. In any other case, it shall lead to immediate disqualification.
    Format of submission should be as per the rules of the competition.
    The soft copy of the essay should be submitted in MS Word file (.doc/.docx).
    Soft Copy of the Essays must be mailed to the Convener cum Coordinator of the Competition at [EMAIL="rnsnlec@gmail.com"]rnsnlec@gmail.com[/EMAIL]

    [B][U]Each participant shall submit 2 hard copies of the same, along with 1 soft copy on CD and the original copy of duly filled, signed & sealed Registration Form; to be sent to the following address[/U][/B]:

    All students are expected to acknowledge the primary source(s) of information.
    Last date for Online Registration shall be 17th of August 2014 [EXTENDED].
    Last date for Soft Copy submission shall be 17th of August 2014 [EXTENDED].
    Last date for Hard Copy submission shall be 31st of August 2014.
    The result of the competition shall be declared in September 2014.

[B][U]Rules for online registration [/U][/B]:
    Interested students shall mail us their basic details in format mentioned below along with the scanned copy of their ID card issued by the concerned College/Institute/University at [EMAIL="rnsnlec@gmail.com"]rnsnlec@gmail.com[/EMAIL]

    On receipt of the above mail, a Unique Submission No. (USN) will be generated & mailed to each individual participant, thereby confirming their registration.
    There is no registration fee for the competition.

[B][U]General rules [/U][/B]:
    The competition shall be open to all students pursuing the 3-year or 5-year Law Course from any institution recognised by the Bar Council of India, in India.
    Only original essays will be considered for the Competition.
    No part of it should have been published earlier nor should it be under consideration for publication or a contest elsewhere.
    Any form of Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification of essay (Max. limit 10%). The participants are responsible for the originality of the work and agree to indemnify RRSA & RNSNLEC from and against any claims, suits and damages based on any claim of copyright infringement or plagiarism or unauthorized use.
    If at any point in time it comes to light that an infringement or plagiarism has taken place the certificates issued will be revoked, the prize called back & the said occurrence will be mentioned on the web and through media.
    Footnotes may not be substituted as endnotes, for it shall lead to disqualification.
    In case of a tie, the decision shall be reserved by RRSA & RNSNLEC.
    Each person shall be required to fill the Online Form to obtain his/her USN, and send duly filled-up registration form, available for download on the website.

4- Second Winner's Essay will be published in India Law Journal (ILJ).
5- Third Winner's Essay will be published in Lawyers Update.
6- Next top 6 entries (4th-10th Winner) will be published in Sahaya Law eJournal.
7- Eastern Book Company's books worth Rs. 5,000/- to the Third Winner.
8- Certificate Courses of IALM in Master Certification on Corporate Contracts OR Drafting Legal Pleadings for Indian Courts to the First, Second & Third Winner.
9- Six Internships, (1 Law Firm + 1 Supreme Court) to each of the Top 3 Winners.
10- Lifetime free subscription of Lex Witness Magazine to Top 3 Winners.
