In this project the traditional air brakes system of Ashok Leyland is modeled and analysis stress distribution is found to be uneven, brake assembly is redesigned and analyzed though analysis a FEA package the analysis results shown the redesigned model is better the existing mode with the redesigned model frication in brake drum skidding distance and the brake lining material life is increased.
