PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME - 2013

[B][U]INTRODUCTION  [/U][/B]:
West Bengal SC ST Development & Finance Corporation, under the aegis of AMBEDKAR CENTRE FOR EXCELLENCE (ACE) launched skill development programme titled “Personal Development Programme” for graduate SC/ST youths in 10 locations of North 24 Parganas & Nadia Districts on PILOT basis.

Nearly 800 students were enrolled in two batches. They were exposed to interviews conducted by potential job providers in private sector. A good no. of students has taken the placement opportunity. As per plan of expansion the programme is now being launched in 21 locations under Jalpaiguri (4), Coochbehar (4), Purulia (5), Paschim Medinipur (4), Siliguri (1), Hooghly (1), North 24 Parganas (1) and Kolkata (1). Particulars of centres are provided separately.

[B][U]PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME [/U][/B]:
Objective of the Training programme is to inculcate essential skills to enhance employability of SC/ST candidates in IT & ITes industry and other sectors relevant to their core competence. The Programme will offer (1) Basic IT Skill in OS & Application Software (Windows, MS-Office latest version), e-mail, social networking site, internet etc. (2) Spoken English, workplace conversation (3) Soft skill like facing interview, Group Discussions, writing CV etc. After completion of the training the successful students will get (1) Certificate from Micro Soft (2) Certificate from Bournville College, UK.

Selected students would be offered a nominal stipend to meet incidental expenses. Successful students would be given opportunity of facing interview for job-employment.

[B][U]SCHEDULE OF CLASSES [/U][/B]:
Course duration – Three months 
[B][U]Days[/U][/B]: Classes will be held three days in a week 
[B][U]Hours[/U][/B]: 3 hours per day 
[B][U]No. of students in a class[/U][/B]: Not exceeding 20

[B][U]ELIGIBILITY [/U][/B]:
SC/ ST students having attained minimum educational qualification of “GRADUATION” may register for the Course. Preference would be given to unemployed students in the age group of 21 to 30 yrs. Annual family income from all sources to which the student belongs shall not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakh. However preference should be given to students belonging to BPL category.
