In this system, any Metal Rod can be placed for which the Thermal conductivity needs to be found. After placing the Rod in the Container, the temperature of the system is gradually increased. The readings are recorded for 3 to 5 consecutive temperatures and dimmer stat readings are also recorded. The values obtained are then applied in the Unsteady heat conduction law and Fourier's Law of heat conduction to arrive at the Thermal conductivity value of the Rod.
