[B][U]Duplicate Licence [/U][/B]: 
** In case of destruction or loss of the original driving licence a duplicate licence can be obtained. 
** The application for the duplicate licence has to be made to the District Transport Officer who had issued the original licence.

[B][U]Following documents are required for issuing a duplicate licence [/U][/B]:
** Application in [URL="http://assamtransport.gov.in/forms/Form-9.pdf"]Form – 9[/URL]
** FIR of Police report of the lost licence
** Original licence in case of torn, destruction or defaced
** Fees of Rs. 20.00

[B][U]Additions to Driving Licence [/U][/B]: 
** If you are a holder of a valid driving licence for Motor Cycle/Scooter you may apply for an addition of light Motor Vehicle (LMV). 
** For a addition of another class of vehicle you have to apply to the District Transport Office where you resides with

[B][U]The following documents[/U][/B]:
** Your valid driving licence
** Valid learner’s licence for the category
** Application in [URL="http://assamtransport.gov.in/forms/Form-8.pdf"]Form – 8[/URL]
** In case of an application for addition of a transport vehicle the driving certificate in Form – 5
** Medical Certificate in [URL="http://assamtransport.gov.in/forms/Form-1A.pdf"]Form - 1A[/URL] in case of Transport Vehicles
** Prescribed Fees

[B][U]International Driving Permit [/U][/B]: 
** ‘International Driving Permit’ means a driving licence issued by the District Transport Officers.
** International Driving Permit will be issued to those who holds a valid Indian Licence and who is a resident of India. 
** With this licence or permit you can drive a motor vehicle prescribed in the permit in the areas or territories of countries 
** other than India but excluding the countries with whom there are no diplomatic relations.

[B][U]Following documents are required [/U][/B]:  at the time of applying an International Driving Permit.
** Current Indian Driving Licence and this licence must be valid for at least another one year.
** Photocopy of passport and Visa
** Application in Form – 6A
** Fee of Rs. 500.00

** Five copies of Passport size photograph
