This Complex also consists of process plant like Sulphuric Acid, Phosphoric Acid Aluminum Fluoride plant and utilities like Captive Power Plants ( capacity 22 MW ), Storage and handling facility of imported LPG(Capacity 8500 MT) and imported Ammonia (10000 MT ) etc. [b][u]ABOUT THE PLANT [/u][/b]: I am working as Field Operator for the past 41/2 years in the Naphtha based Ammonia Plant, is designed to produce Anhydrous Ammonia on total energy concept using Steam-Naphtha reforming process with the capacity of 1260 T/Day, in which I am having diversified experience in the following areas. TANK FARM The handling and storage facilities of naphtha and furnace oil are coming under this unit which consists of the following tanks. Capacity in KL 1. Two Raw Naphtha Tanks 8700 2. Two High Aromatic Naphtha Tanks 6250 3. One Sweet Naphtha Tank 8750 4. Two Furnace Oil Tanks 3800 Naphtha Tanks are having "Floating roof Pantoon Type with Neoprene Seal" Breathers, Roof drains are located in the roof. Foam pourer and Water sprayers are provided for Safety. [b][u]HYDRO DE-SULPHURISATION OF NAPHTHA SECTION [/u][/b]: This unit is an oil-processing Unit where the sulphur content is reduced from 1500 ppm to 0.5 ppm based on IIP-IFP Process. I have the operating experience of this unit, where we have two natural draft FIRED HEATERS fuelled by fuel gas and naphtha using 4 AIROIL burners, COMOX-ZnO catalyst reactors, Two reciprocating Hydrogen Compressors, Stripping Column and necessary pumps and heat exchangers. The desulphurised naphtha is called as sweet naphtha which stored in the respective tank for the supply to reforming section. [b][u]Fired heaters (Naphtha vaporizer) [/u][/b]: This vaporizer contains two natural draft fired heaters fuelled by fuel gas and Naphtha using 4 AIROIL burners each. The furnace is refractory lined. Flame is sensed by two flame scanners and the skin temperatures of the radiation coils are measured. Each burner is fixed with an igniter for the light up. Remote fuel isolation valve is given for the safety measure. [b][u]Reactor [/u][/b]: The COMOX catalyst reactor is operated at 350ºC at 21 KSG pres. Over the COMOX CATALYST Alumina balls are packed to avoid the direct impingement of the gas over the naphtha feed and H2S is formed in this vessel. Six thermocouples were installed along the catalyst bed to monitor the bed temperatures. COMOX - ZnO reactor operates at 400ºC at KSC pressure. [b][u]Stripping column [/u][/b]: The Stripper is a separating column which strips out H2S which is in dissolved state in naphtha. It is having reboiler at the bottom and reflux unit with condenser at the top. It contains 30 ballast type single pass trays where feed enters at the 21st tray from the bottom. The sour gas at the top is used for firing in the fired burners, through pressure control valve. This stripping column operates at a pressure of 14.2 KSC. [b][u]CATALYTIC REFORMING UNIT [/u][/b]: This unit based on ICI-STEAMNAPHTHA REFORMING PROCESS Primary reformer unit is having 90 no of top fired burners and a furnace, 264 HP-NB-MICROALLOY TUBES, two sets of Induced and Forced draft fans and four no of fuel gas waste heat recovery boilers and super heaters. Vapour Naphtha is mixed with steam and enters at 457ºC to a Nickel Catalyst bed. Primary reformer outlet temperature is 765°C.The outlet gas contains CO, CO2, H2 H20 and CH4.Flare system is available. Routine observation of skin temperature, gun cleaning and explosive check is done here [b][u]SECONDARY REFORMING UNIT [/u][/b]: In Secondary Reforming CH4 content is reduced from 9.25% to 0.25% at the exit by burning process gas with process air. Other advantage is N2 required for synthesis section is introduced at this section. Catalyst for secondary reformer is of nickel high alumina and silica type (ICI 54.8). Gas at the exit is at 946°C and enters RGB where the heat energy available is used to generate 150 tones of 106-ksc steam. The exit gas is sent to high temperature shift converter. Compressor House [b][u]SYNTHESIS GAS COMPRESSOR [/u][/b]: Delivered Synthesis gas at 200 Ksc, to Ammonia Converter. It is a multistage centrifugal compressor and having three barrel (vertically split) machine with anti surge control system. [b][u]Driver [/u][/b]: Extraction cum condensing turbine powered by 106 ksc, steam At 475oC developing 19,035 KW at 10,309 RPM [b][u]Capacity [/u][/b]: 1, 30, 522 NM3 /hr [b][u]Make [/u][/b]: MITSUBISHI [b][u]Auxiliaries [/u][/b]: Lube oil and Seal oil system [b][u]PROCESS AIR COMPRESSOR [/u][/b]: It is a multistage centrifugal compressor driven by 12 KSC, condensing type turbine with anti-surge control system and delivered process air to secondary reformer. This compressor handling Ammonia and contains compact seal oil and Surge control system.
