Through a unique grant supported by their alumni and the Imperial College India Foundation, the Imperial College is offering two full PhD scholarships to Indian students. Applicants will be assessed on both academic merit and financial need, and priority will be given to students who have not already completed a degree at a higher education institution outside India.
Each scholarship covers the full cost of tuition fees, a maintenance allowance, some additional costs, and an airfare to India. Scholarships will support either three years of study for a PhD or four years in certain cases where the student is required to undertake a one-year postgraduate degree prior to beginning their PhD.

[B][U]Eligibility[/U][/B]:
Applicants are required to have been offered admission to study on PhD offered by the faculty of engineering at the college or by the Imperial College Business School. They need to display intellectual ability and leadership potential and be committed to using their abilities to contribute to India on their return. They must demonstrate an interest to return to home country in three years of completion of the course. They should be in need of financial support in order to pursue their studies. An adequate standard of English ie at least 6.5 in IELTS, is also an imperative.

After applying to the college for PhD admissions, candidates can download and complete the online scholarship application form, signed by their supervisor and head of department. This should then be submitted along with a copy of the PhD application and parental tax returns
