I am from the US and I applied to India consulting and I got accepted for a year long training program. After acceptance the company wanted payment within 48 hours and the program is 6 lakhs but it also had 12% service tax so it came out to be 7 lakhs. its it normal for Indian companies to demand a great amount of money so shortly charge such high service tax on an educational program?

I tried to look the company up but couldn't find anything other than the company website. I don't want to spend a huge amount of money and be scammed. Does anyone know this company really exist? I would like to know before I invest in it.[/QUOTE]
