The discontinuity or cut-outs acts as stress raisers which results in component failure at high operating speeds. The availability of FEA has improved the situation by simulating worst possible loads acting on the component, and providing the solution for the complete problem. In the present world, the role of stress concentration factor in steam turbine disc is Subjected to huge centrifugal force is attempted. Pressure holes in steam turbine disc are compulsory to balance the unbalance holes created due tip leakage. This balancing Holes in turbine act as stress raiser in turbine disc. Due to cut out, the peak stress developed at high speeds initiates cracks during operating cycle, which later propagates to reach a critical crack length which leads to catastrophic failure of disc, which exists in history, hence it is important to understand stress distribution across cut out. Introduction of number of balancing holes in disc to study the stress redistribution in The disc from bore to rim in presence of blade force and spin load is attributed to evaluate structural integrity as per design consideration is the final objective. By utilizing plane stress analysis through the computational finite element analysis is discussed.
