Applications in prescribed form are invited for admission to the Integrated Pre-Ph. D. Course Work for Registration to M. Phil. / Ph. D. Programme (on successful completion of Course Work) for the academic session 2013 to be offered by the following Departments of Assam University:

[B]A. Departments offering both M. Phil. & Ph. D. Programme (Silchar H.Q.)  [/B]: 
1. Linguistics, 2. Bengali, 3. Hindi, 4. Manipuri, 5. Sanskrit, 6. English, 7. Arabic, 8. Economics, 9. Commerce, 10. Political Science, 11. History, 12. Sociology, 13. Social Work, 14. Mass Communication, 15. Philosophy, 16. Education, 17. Physics, 18. Chemistry, 19. Mathematics, 20. Computer Science, 21. Life Science and Bioinformatics, 22. Biotechnology, 23. Ecology & Environmental Science, 24. Library & Information Science, 25. Microbiology.

[B]2. Departments offering Ph. D. programme only (Silchar H.Q.)  [/B]:

[B]B. Departments offering both M. Phil. & Ph. D. Programme (Diphu Campus)  [/B]:

[B]Eligibility Criteria  [/B]: (a) Integrated Pre Ph. D. Course:-
(i) Candidates securing 55% marks or above or equivalent grade in Master Degree Examination of a recognized University are only eligible to apply for admission to One semester Integrated Pre-Ph. D Course Work for registration for M. Phil / Ph. D Programme of the University. Relaxation of marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories shall be as per Government of India Rules. 
(ii) Candidates with M. Phil Degree from any recognized University with explicit proof of qualifying in the Course Work of minimum one semester duration having one paper on Research Methodology and obtained at least 55 marks in each paper separately can also apply for provisional registration to Ph. D Programme directly without pursuing fresh course work if selected in the Admission Test (Personal Interview Only).

[B]Application fee [/B]:  Application fee of 700.00 (for General and OBC students) and 500.00 (for SC/ST students) through Demand Draft in favour of Finance Officer, Assam University Silchar payable at Silchar.

[B]How to apply [/B]:
i) The Admission form may be downloaded from University website and submitted along with an application fee of 700.00 (for General and OBC students) and 500.00 (for SC/ST students) through Demand Draft in favour of Finance Officer, Assam University Silchar payable at Silchar.

ii) Candidates may also collect Prospectus along with Application Form for the course(s) on payment of 700.00 (for General and OBC students) and 500.00 (for SC/ST students) from the Assam University cash counter from 24th December 2012 to 11th January 2013 on all working days up to 2 pm.

iii)  All filled in application form should be submitted to the concerned
